Bottle. Small piney hop nose, bready, thin malt. Dark amber color, thin off-white head. Solid caramel initial, peach, mild tropical fruit, some citrus. Medium body, with small hop bites from mid onwards. Fairly tasty. Not the most exciting beer put out by Bear Republic, but very drinkable.

Santa Clara, Ca - Santa Clara Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Murky, dark orange pour, fluffy snow white head that leaves a nice film of lacing. Floral hints in the aroma, hint of saffron spice, just a touch of spruce. Flavor has a solid bitter citrus backbone, touch of sweet cake mix, some yeasty notes. Decently thick mouthfeel. Not bad at all.

Bottle from Liquor Max. Orange pour little head. Aroma has citrus and pine with some biscuit and sweet malt. Taste is of sweet fruits, grapefruit, sprucy pine on a solid malt base. Medium bodied and sticky with little alcohol. Finishes tangy bittersweet. This is solid, from a bit of an up-and-down brewery 14.1

Poured from a 12 oz into a chilled tall glass. Another quality offering by one of our NorCal’s premiere brewers. Nice bouquet of pine and citrus, decent color, edgey enough on the palate to feel the hops, and good balance over all. My favorite APA is Sierra Nevada, but this beer is a worthy cousin. I really love BR’s Rocket Red and Hop Rod Rye, so I’m not surprised that this brew is so drinkable. Good job!

Hazy copperish golden with a thin foamy head. Lovely pale ale aroma driven by semisweet pale malt and a touch of golden toast, with a smack of grassy and orange rind hoppy notes. Crisp hoppy flavor with orange zest, just the right amount of citric bitterness, a dash of lemon grass, and maybe some pine, with a sturdy pale malt body and a whisper of marmalade.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. It pours a fluffy heady orange-amber with a chill haze perhaps. Toasted malts, peat moss, and grassy hops define the aroma. Light to medium body. Fairly clean and sweet flavor up front with a lingering dry bitterness at the end. Fits the style appropriately.
