Sample at Lucky’s in Dayton. Pours a clear dark golden color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually. Short strings of lace on the glass. Aroma of hops and bready malt. Medium-bodied with a moderately bitter citrusy hops character with toasted malt behind it. The finish is floral with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bang on pale ale enjoyed at the Tap Room. Light golden colour, lacey, easy smooth mouthfeel. Citrus orange bitterness. Good drinkability. No astringency at well. This apparently will become their main pale ale. Above average bodied and medium hoppiness.

Orange pour in a sample glass at Fate. This is an overly malty, somewhat off putting beer. Green coffee, not enough hops. Weird.

A solid APA that is a little IPA leaning, but manages a gentle balance that most IPAs do not. Lots of citrus and some pine on the nose. Carmel and bready malt backbone. Lingering bitter finish. 6-packs, too

Bottle from Whole Foods. Pours turbid orangy straw colored with off-white head. Nose is hopcitrus, floral, tropical frui. Tastes hoppy, citric, with notes of tangerine, tastes like juicy Citra hops, and a crisp, explosive hop and citrus finish.

Tap at Meridian Pint. Pours a full hazed orange. Creamy foam. Thick swabs of poofy lace. Nose is fresh orange juice and zesty pink grapefruit. Taste is sharp, spicy, oily, quite bitter. Feels heavier than APA. More IPA. Very nice.

11oz glass on tap from Keystone in Clifton. Mostly clear orange yellow color. Good thicker off-white head. Respectable thicker splotches and ropes of lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Nice citrus hop note, but it’s not over the top, balanced well by lighter caramel malt, some good clean biscuity malt, with a lightly peppery finish. Nice moderate bitter taste, little sweet. Good, balanced pale ale.

Tap at the brewpub. Clear light orange pour with a sticky white head. Meld of citrus and pine resin. A touch of earthy tones but more caramel malt than that. Pretty solid.

Draft at the brewpub, served in a flight. Pours a clear gold color with a white ring for a head. Notes of lemon, orange peel, tangerine, florals, sweat, wet grass and hay, and pale and sweet malts. Light-bodied, with modest carbonation and a bitter, damp mouthfeel. Good pale ale.
