22oz bomber from Central Market. Clear, light brown body, with reddish highlights, under a voluminous off-white head that’s still hangin’ around 15 minutes after pour (and leaving a foamy, coating lacing). Grassy, floral hops on the nose along with light malt sweetness. Flavor is bitter hops, light caramel sweetness, rye malt, light floral hop after all else. Fine carbonation and a full, smooth mouthfeel. Long, moderate, smooth resin/pine bitter finish.

Dark, transparent amber pour, with a thick, pillowy, beige head. Looks like something from Stone - really pretty. Hops in the aroma are pulled back by earthy caramel malts - lots of grain (there’s the rye) - really nice aroma. Flavor is well balanced - definitely shy of barley wine territory, but it has plenty of toasted nuts and slightly burnt caramel malts that give a nice feel to what might otherwise be a bit too bitter. Almost as sweet and dark as a brown ale - this one is really tasty.

A beautiful deep reddish-brown color with a strong fruity, caramel aroma, strong but delicate campaign like carbonation and a lasting finish.

THANK YOU GULLY!!! Bright dark brown with a nice long lasting crown. Intense west coast hop aroma, mmmmmmm……hops (homer drool). Grape fruit bars of soap and rye all come through very clearly in the aroma. Taste is sweet with an intense bitter in the finish, more soap. Rye is tasty but I just wish this was more malty and heavier on the pallet. I’m finding the malts are getting lost in the intense hops. I feel sad this beer didn’t blow my mind like I thought it would, don’t get my wrong it was an excellent beer and I’d kill to drink it again, it just didn’t live up to its hype in my opinion.

Fantastic. Pours brown with hints of red, nice large grained head, strong nose spruce and spice, taste has the dry spice of the rye up front, lingering hops. Big mouth feel, with some heat. Really liked this bottle. Have never enjoyed it quite so much on draft.

22 oz bottle. Had a sample of this at DLD 09, thought it was tasty, so I picked up a bomber of it. Pours a dark amber-brown color with a small white-ish head that dissipates quickly. Smells of hops, malt, rye, and a bit of citrus. Tastes of hops and malt, but has an interesting backbone to it that I can’t quite figure out what the flavor is. Quite a nice mouthfeel to it, as its pretty thick and full-bodied. Quite enjoyable.

Clear brown color with a large tan head. Aroma of rye bread (no kidding) and earthy malts. Flavor begins with malt, hops come in half way through, and rye bread returns in the finish. Interesting.

Pours a beautiful brick red with a thick off-white head. Aroma of citrus hops and rye. Nice bitter flavor with plenty of malt sweetness and rye flavor in the finish. Great rye IPA.
