Bottle from some liquor store in Buffalo. Ruby amber body, thick creamy off white head. Aroma creeps out of the glass and teases my nose from more than a foot away. Pleasant hops and notes of what I can only assume to be rye. Flavour is precociously hoppy but not overwhelmingly so, with plenty of malt in a supporting role. Strikes a remarkable balance with a co-mingling of hops and notes of rye. Palate is quite smooth, medium bodied.

Pours a mahogany with a frothy off-white head that left thick lacing on the glass. Clean hop aroma. Taste has a drinkable hop bitterness with the rye clearly noticeable, which mellows out the flavor without losing complexity. Excellent drink.

Golden red-brown with aroma like rye. A bitter and sweet taste with hints of hops and rye. The bitter afterburn dominates the experience!

UPDATED: JUL 21, 2005 Tap at Falling Rock. Slightly lighter in color than the Racer X. Spicy nose with loads of citrusy hops. Blisteringly hoppy beer, with a little bit of earthy, herbal flavor. Dry finish. Very good IPA

Dark amber body, foamy white head. Nice lacing, long lasting head. Aroma is hops, caramel malts, grassy, and herbal. Taste is sweet candy, malt, fresh greens, and candy. Bitter, well balanced. Thanks for the beer Doug!

UPDATED: SEP 4, 2007 Bottle. Wow. First off-BEAUTIFUL pour! Dark ruby red with a two finger lasting foamy head. Nose is malty and perfumey. The hops in this beer are 100% perfect. Not too much, not too little. Good strong malty backbone. Notes of malt, apple, raisin, soft carbonation, and molasses come out. This is a fantastic beer and an average of 3.99 is low IMO!

bottle. pours a deep mahogany with a creamy dark tinted white head. sweet hop aroma. mmmmmmliquid candy. sweet malt sugar flavor with a fantastic hop bitter in the finish. leaves a roasty taint on my tongue that is very appealing. i can taste a lot of stuff that i can’t seem to put my finger on in this. a bit of caramel, some roast flavor, citrus, floral flavors. it all mixes together well.

Nice aroma of hops, some sweety thing, and yes, it actually smells of rye-bread, mmm. Dark brown body with a ruby hint, medium off-white head, nice lacing. The malt and hops in the flavor are very nice balanced, the rye gives it a special bitter edge, spicy. Quite nice and interesting brew. Rye is the bomb!
