You can smell a little bit hop and herbs. Taste is herbs, floral. Then comes a little bit sweet before the bitterness appears. Well balanced.

On tap. Wow! I’m a huge fan of rye ales, and this one did not let my down. Citric floral hop notes and a perfect sweetness from the rye makes this a perfectly balanced IPA. One of the best beers I have ever tasted.

Wow. I can’t say enough about this yummy Rye IPA. The head didn’t stick around for very long, but what a nice aroma coming out of the bottle and then the glass. Spicy and hoppy with an added touch of toasty caramel? Just a perfect balance of flavors, just enough malt to take the edge off, without taking the edge AWAY. Nice. A heavy bitterness with a nice mouth-feel, not sticky, and just right in bitter without being dry. I only wish this were available in my town, because it would be in my cooler all the time.

Nice beer, more intense than I was expecting. Lots of bitterness, toasty malts, plenty of hops, slightly burnt caramel, some floral hop flavours. Nice but not much complexity.

Rye is definitely a prominent feature. Delightful balance of malt and hops. Solid brew, will try again soon.

Bottle. Aroma is resin and pine hops, earthy, bit of rye weirdness. Taste amps up the rye, bit of caramel. Sight sourness maybe. Quite interesting. Pretty dry.

Initially big floral hop aroma, followed by more caramel malt. Also getting the rye aspects. Appearance is a muddy amber brown, not much head. Definite hop taste, initial bitterness following by caramel sweet, then more bitter finish. Very big rye, boozy, spicy. A bit challenging really.

Tap@ the local tap house, Sydney 2012. Deep copper. Aromas of floral hops and a spicy, earthiness of the rye. A deep base of caramel malt with an earthy, spicy element from the rye. Subtle, but still noticeable citrus hops. Enjoyed this one. Haven't had too many rye beers.
