Deep copper/brown color. Sips full and mildly hoppy. Nice balance between hops and malt sweetness with full body throughout. Slightly chalky finish, but overall this is a nice intro hoppy ipa with the rye flavors adding a nice malt touch.

Draf at Eulogy. Hazy dark amber pour. Thick foamy head at the start. Dark hoppy flavors. Burnt grapefruit. Rye adds a lot of peppery spice to the mix. Pungent flavors though btje body reads a bit thin. Burnt paper. Fruity cigarettes. Odd combo. Odd stuff, but good.

Aroma: hoppy but quickly overpowered by the various malts, caramel and toffee?. Appearance: cloudy, dark brown. Taste: sweet. Palate: caramel and toffee malts, massive, but still pleasant, very long turning to a mild bitterness. Overall: holy cow, this is good! Bottle from the Crate Brewery, London.

Bottle from Hay Wines, Ledbury, Herefordshire. Dark amber. Tight, off white head. Damson jam, tinned strawberries, granary bread, bitter grapefruit. The full works, in fact. Taste is toffee sweet and grapefruit bitter, all balanced well. Big, fruity, oily palate. Long, dry, pink grapefruit finish.

Had on draft at the brewery (and multiple other times) Pine, citrusy, warming, thick mouth feel, malty, tasty.

Bottle at home into an Affligem glass. Creamy head that disintegrates over a gassy dark red beer. Perfumed hoppy aroma. Bitter, dry hops with some caramel in the background. A bit over hop/spiced though. Still its quite sippable.

Bottled: unk, but grabbed the one with the least sediment.... Pours a dark amber with a couple fingers of light cream foam and gobs of lace. Smells of pine, resin, grapefruit and tangerine - nice west coast style IPA nose here. I like. Malty flavor with hints of spice and a little sweet hop character (like in the bag hops). Not much in the way of complex IPA though. Sweet with a bit of hop character is what I’m getting. Medium bodied with lower than anticipated carb and a semi dry finish. Decent beer, nothing special. 1st review: 23FEB11: 3/2.5/2/2/2 -2.15 A: Pours dark, deep red with limited translucency. A few more SRM’s and this one would qualify for a CDA/ABA. Single finger, peanut colored head dissipates quickly leaving fairly confluent foam sheet. Limited lacing. S: Some citrus, but predominantly, this is very, very similar to their Red Rocket - maybe because the beer has been sitting on the shelf too long - but too bad, learn to date your product. Lots of malt, smells like a red or ESB. T: Yep, about the same as the Red Rocket. Too bad. Getting low marks for this. If an IPA is to be had fresh, date your bottles! M: Medium body with low carbonation. D: This beer is drinkable as is, but very, very disappointing for an IPA. Huge fail, and if not for the reasons of dating, then the beer is a fail in the style in general.

Pours a copper color with a fluffy, off white head. Hop, caramel, citrus, rye spice and biscuit aroma. Hop, citrus, caramel, rye, biscuit, toffee and floral flavors. Medium body and carbonation with a slightly spicy and bready mouthfeel. Caramel and rye finish.

A dark honey body sits beneath two inches of off white mostly tight head with frothy accents, falling to a resilient cap and erratic, hardy lace

Always fun to try some of the old favorites, tropical sweet floral aromatics with increasing lemony citrus notes as this warms, followed by big juicy meaty tropical fruit notes wrapped in sweet caramel and spicy rye on a quenching medium body which goes down very easily followed by a tiny touch of heat with sticky hoppy residuals complimented by notes of spicy rye, a light nutty character develops, everything is well controlled and generally balanced, a solid variety of flavors without being complex, satisfying and solid

Seems like this sixer of 12oz bottles may not be super fresh but definitely not past their prime, 45º into Spiegelau IPA glass
