From the pour I got a deep ruby red body with some carbonation and a tall light beige head. The head is thick and long lasting which makes for some think clingy lace patterns on the glass. The aroma has deep lemon pith and lemon oil like hops with a touch of resiny pine like hops too. I am also getting rye bready and lots of roasted/toasted malt. There is a heavy concentrated hit of resiny pine and citrus hops backed up by a deep solid hit of dark roasted grain, caramelized malt, raison like dark fruit and toasted rye bread. The ABV is fairly well hidden but does add a touch of sweetness and warmth to the overall character which is intense. The finish is long and full of hop bitterness that very slowly fades off the tongue. Under this I also pick up some mellow sweet alcohol and a hint of an almond like toasted note. It has a very deep and complex finish.

Bottled, 355ml from The Hand in Hand, Brighton Kemptown. Clouded ruby amber with off white head. Fruity and full aroma leading through to the beer, sweetish, tropical fruits, slightly aggressive bitterness. Good stuff.

Amber body with thin white head and heavy yeast suspension. Absolutely flat. Aromas of sweet caramel, ripe fruits, alcohol and pepper. Taste medium bitter, mild sweetness. Slightly neroli oil texture and palate. nothing overpowering or bullying. Very good.

Bottle from Henderson Wines. Hazy amber body with tiny yeast flecks floating around. Thick off-white head. No visible carbonation. Excellent lacing. Gorgeous tropical fruit aroma with caramel and pine hints. Flavour of caramel, pepper, orange and mango. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Hoppy with depth. An incredible beer.

Good looking brew but not too much more for me to brag about. Rye really overwhelms this one.

You can smell a little bit hop and herbs. Taste is herbs, floral. Then comes a little bit sweet before the bitterness appears. Well balanced.

On tap. Wow! Im a huge fan of rye ales, and this one did not let my down. Citric floral hop notes and a perfect sweetness from the rye makes this a perfectly balanced IPA. One of the best beers I have ever tasted.
