355 ml bottle from AEON Liquors @ Jiyugaoka. Pours nice amber and relatively clear for a rye ale. Head is not large and doesnít stay long. Aroma has rich hop character, nicely balanced with fruity malt caramel notes. Can I feel some rye over there? Actually not in the nose - but in the taste yes. First sip is quite well balanced between hops and body. I guess it is body where the full roundness of rye caramel comes out the best. Hops are still quite strong and there is solid bitterness, some pine needles. Not too resinous though, bitterness feels quite dry. Aftertaste starts off fruity but ends by long and lingering bitterness. Excellent beer and doesnít really feel "double" at all. Well, maybe a little :)

12oz bottle pours a hazy copper with a small head and little lacing. Aromas of toffee, banana, caramel. Very delicious.

Massive burnt toffee palate almost - but not quite - balanced with fruity resinous hops - not my style (I prefer low malt impact) but I appreciate the quality and the complexity. Fantastic (if this is your style).

12 oz bottle for 2.49. Pours dark copper/amber with a white head. Aroma is huge caramel malts with a hoppy citrus backing. Taste is similar, huge citrus hop, caramel malts with a rye backing and lasting bitterness. Body is creamy, above average. Overall this is a very good IPA. Recommended,

Poured into shaker from bottle. Aroma is orange peel. Color is copper and had a decent off white head. Taste is hoppy, citrus and malt. Finish has a bitterness and the malt comes through. Non filtered there was some sediment but almost clear. Mouthfeel is thicker but still slick. Alcohol seems nicely hidden. Enjoyed, well done.

Very rich on the nose with a clear caramel aroma mixed with orange peel, dry figs, cherries herbs. Medium body, but solid, nice creamy texture. Alcohol is quite high and this propably adds sweetness to the flavour. The finish is long and a bitter aftertaste lingers in the mouth. I think this kind of beers are good especially in winter, very nice.

Bottle, numerous times. Pours a darker than usual golden with slight white head. Aroma is floral hops but that quickly goes away. Taste is banana, distant hops and some residual sugar an pine. That sounds good but this isnít great. Might be old but I see this all over. Bottle date.

A well made DIPA, but I feel like Iíve tasted this one before, mainly because the rye doesnít impart too much into this. I was expecting a really chewy spicy DIPA because of the rye, but its not as evident as in other ales, high gravity perhaps? I donít know, but its still very good.

An excellent beer that makes a nice change from the ubiquitous IPAs. Rich, full bodied, and balanced the only downside is itís strength - itís a little too strong to enjoy in the quantities Iíd like!
