Bottle. dark red copper beer with large head and touches of lacing. Aroma of pine and fruit hops along with caramel. Taste is pine resin, caramel, spicy grapefruit and a little herbal. There is a slight warm alcohol kick in the finish as well. Soft and medium bodied on the palate. A very good DIPA.

Have had many of times. Just realized I never rated it. Pours copper, lots of rye and nice balance of malt and hops.

3.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: AUG 5, 2013 Bottle, pours a dark golden, colour of treacle. Very small carbonation. Smell is not overpowering, rye, sweet biscuit, and golden syrup, slight floral. Taste... biscuit maltiness, creamy, ending in bitter. Slight acidity, coming from some kind of slight tropical fruit thing going on. High ABV is masked thankfully. Wonderful. Man its a good time to be a beer lover.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Poured into a tall 24 oz chilled glass with a large head. Robust aroma. Initially there is a big piney taste but it becomes smooth after a few sips. Simply spine chilling with a pleasant lingering aftertaste. I could drink this ALL DAY and never get bloated. Still this one will put hair on your chest.

12oz bottle, pours copper golden, small head. Lots of rye & caramel malts coming through in the aroma, very malt heavy, with earthy, piney hops coming through before a balanced short bitter finish. Didnít want this to end, really good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep amber, almost red with little to no head to speak of, leaves solid lacing. Aroma of toasted rye with faint floral hops. Malt and rye hit the tongue first followed by moderate hop bitterness. Medium body with good carbonation, finishes slightly off dry with some lingering hop bitterness. Overall a good, not great IPA. It's more of a rye beer than a true IPA. I expected more hops.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip glass. Appearance is dark copper with a thin tan head which dissipates quickly. Aroma is spicy rye malt and bitter hops. Taste is kind of strange. Itís like a blend of rich caramel malt and spicy rye malt on top of various hops. There is a subtle earthy taste as well. The flavors all hit at once rather than blending into each other; if theyíd done that, I probably would have given it a higher rating. But itís still pretty good.

This is a good one. There isnít much of a nose... Itís a very dark amber color. It reminds me a lot of the founders rye. P. A. You canít really taste the 8%. I like this beer.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Great great beer. Deep red brown color. Creamy smooth mouthfeel. Very hoppy with a touch of rye that sets off the hops very well. Like founders reds rye-p-a but way better and a lot more powerful.
