A hazy red beer with a fine light brown head. The aroma is a great hop aroma with notes of caramel and alcohol. The flavor is also a great powerful hop flavor, very acidic, leading up to a dry end. It is just a bit too acidic hoppy for my taste, but still a very nice beer.

(Bottle 65 cl) Clear, amber golden with a dense, off-white head. Fantastic and fresh, citrusy hop aroma. Rather full-bodied with lots of caramel and nuts and a high degree of fruitiness. Distinctly hoppy finish. Nice one. Thanks to sk8viking for sharing. 150207

Bottled. Clear mahogany appearance, creamy head. Grapefruity aroma. Dominated by hops, but there’s plenty of soft, rich maltiness there as well. Lingering salty, very bitter finish. When it comes to malt character Bear Republic is one of my favourite American breweries!

Bottle, 8%. Good caramelly and teaish hop aroma. Clear brown colour. Small off-white head. The flavour is powerful, quite sweet, there is a good caramelly and grassy hop note, and a distinct, but not rough bitterness in the finish. Quite well-balanced even though it is very flavourful. 838318

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2005 Chestnut-accented amber colour. Citrusy, woody hop aroma with toasty malts...maybe a hint of crystal in there. Crisply bitter, moderately-sized body. Toasty and woody with dashes of lemon juice and light grainy notes (presumably rye, but it’s indistinctive to me). Dry, woody finish.
Original notes: Fiery amber; aroma is great - lots of hops, kicking back with well-extracted, quality malts. Caramel, rye notes add accent to a delicious, different brew.

(Bottle) Pours a deep cooper color with an incredibly thick, long lasting, frothy beige head. The head on this one resembled a root beer float head. Has a good hoppy flavor with a creamy finish.
