robertjm (250), El Cerrito, California, USA Mar 5, 2003 Packed with a Rye punch!! The unmistakeable bitter aftertaste of a rye stays with you long after you're done drinking it. After it warmed up a bit, it didn't linger nearly as long. Nice color. Average head, but atleast it stays there. Rye beers are definately unique. Worth trying at least once.

Love this beer. Wonderfully hoppy in aroma and taste. nice balance and rye character. I can’t say enough about it. Instant classic. Wish I could get it near my home. JFGrind (1239), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 7, 2009 Drank more than a few bombers of Hop Rod Rye over the past five months, thought it was time to rate it. Strong full bodied red 2Xipa with outstanding hop bitterness, and malt/rye combination backing it up. Well thought out and unique recipe makes a great beer. hoppopotamus (99), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jan 4, 2009 A reddish beer with a small offwhite head that doesnt last. The aroma is a vey nice balance of floral hops and caramel malt, and the flavor is more malt dominated, with long bitter hop finish, No trace of serious booze taste. Good beer! crackedmachine (7), Seattle, Washington, USA does not count Jan 4, 2009 Bottle. Dark color, with a strong but wonderfully balanced hop bite. On the strong side, with the alcohol a bit noticeable, but in this case it works well for the overall flavor. A steady favorite of mine for awhile now. When I’m in a store contemplating a good selection of beer, this one comes home with me often. mtaller (5), Dickinson, Texas, USA does not count Jan 1, 2009 Nice meduim amber color with similar frosty head. Huge hop aroma and taste. Underlying rye flavor is enhanced as the beer warms up a little. Very good brew for hop fans.
