Aroma is hoppy and crisp. Taste the malt in this one, smell is tricky! Enjoyed it, overall.

Bottle at home. Aroma is thick rye malt, hops, pine resin, ripe fruits, caramel, soft herbal/spicy notes, hint of toffee. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and bitter. Body is above medium, nice thickness and balance. A prime specimen of rye IPA, bittersweet and rich with a sturdy rye body.

Cerveja com amargor extremamente elevado com leve percepÁ„o do Šlcool. O aroma ť simples e podia ser melhor trabalhado, mas o paladar compensa.

Very old bottle, maybe 2011. Cloudy dark brown with thick sediment. Caramel, chocolate, coffee, resin, alcohol. Heavy bitter and medium sweet. Low carbonation, probably some lost in cellaring. Long, spicy and bitter finish. Reminds me of mud cake. This is a big, big beer.

Tap on a snifter glass at World of Beer St. Paul. Color is a copper variation with a pleasant white head and assertive lacing. Nose is mostly malt and caramel with a little bit of hip presence. Taste has a healthy bitterness but offset with a malty, cereal chewy characteristic that works as a nice balance. Feels like a bready, spicy beer with enough hoppy qualities to keep it from an uncalled unbalanced amber offering. Definitely feels heavier than other Beat Republic efforts but still enjoyable. This one is a good representation of a rye.

Poured from the bomber, itís a chunky brown with orange highlights. Taste is sweet boozy hops, some citrus, Iím thinking rye (cause I donít really recognize the flavor), not so dry at the end, nice change of pace beer.

12 oz bottle shared by ebone1988. The pour is a dark brown color with a thinner white head that falls to a thick collar. The aroma is interesting. There is a lot of citrus to it while maintaining a light spiciness. The hops arenít bright, but rather relaxed and offering light influences. The rye adds a hint of spice, but doesnít do a whole lot. The flavor is way bigger on the rye. Lots of spicy grain and a resounding bitterness. Itís really interesting. The hops just offer a heavy bitter and the rye dominates. Itís almost one dimensional. There is a maltiness as well that Iím not digging. The mouth feel is lighter and decently carbed with a lingeringly spicy rye finish. Itís dry as fuck. Itís interesting.

Bottle shared with koleminer20. For the book. Aroma is rye, earthy hops, malt, rye heavy. Appearance is red, copper, off white/light tan head, hazy. Taste is rye, grainy, earthy hops, dirt. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light carbonation, dirt grainy aftertaste. Overall, this one is pretty good.
