el_caballo (101), Beverly Hills, California, USA May 5, 2008 Updated: May 15, 2008 An excellent beer from a great brewery. The rye flavors really come through on this bad boy... Yum yum its tastey. Not quite as bitter as I expected but its great. Far from what you usually get in this style but well worth it. I will always return to this beer.
PolakPorter (50), , Illinois, USA Aug 19, 2008 From the bomber. Wow! An IPA with such depth never gets old. The rye adds a slight twain at the end making this quite the tantalyzingly tasty ber. An all time favorite that I’m always looking forward to. Go BR!! Ramenen (333), San Salvador, El Salvador Aug 17, 2008 Thanks to ghawener. Drank it last nite at El Salvador’s beer session. Pours a dark, amber color, very different from IIPA. Aroma is sweet and hoppy. Medium bodied, a bit syrupy. Taste is balanced, it has tons of sweet malts, with some spice, then you taste the pine and citrus of the hops. Long finish.
Pours a clear deep amber color with a chunky head that sticks around throughout, quite literally. Nice malty rye bread aroma, along with a bit of citrus and pine hops. Nice flavor as well, with a sweet malty rye base and a buttload of pine and grapefruity hops on the finish. Good carbonation and a nice alcohol bite. A really good brew! FishManLA (164), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Aug 10, 2008 Poured a dark brown/amber with a fairly large rocky head. The head persisted a long time and remained as a thin layer of foam until the very end. Thick, ropey lacing was left on the glass. Nose of bread with some floral notes. Flavor was hoppy and woody tasting with notes of spices, caramel, and coffee. Deliciously bitter very hoppy finish. A really good brew!
