UPDATED: OCT 29, 2007 This is a moderately deep amber with a small, weak head and thin, but long-lasting, pretty good lacing. The aroma is mild, with a somewhat full toasty, nutty element. The taste is predominantly somewhat sweet toasty nuts and malt with an offsetting mild bitterness giving a fairly crisp finish. As with many ESB-types, this is fairly tasty and flavourful, with decent body, and very smooth and drinkable, but not overly exciting. I happily drink it, but it’s not among my favourites.

Apricots and strawberries and little bitterness. Again BR aims for an English style beer and falls short. Better than the Endevour, but a bit too sweet for my likely. More balanced and restrained than the Endevour. Not bad, would have again.

Draft @ Blind Tiger. Last BR brew of the night. Amber pour with some tan head. Woody, earthy and bitter hop aroma. Flavor has some sweet malt influence.

(Old BA rate - tap) Half-finger of lightly tan head; rich coppery brown color with really nice lacing. Hoppy and malty; earthy; rich; lightly sweet and a little dank hoppiness actually in the aroma. Great hoppiness (which surprised me and doesn’t quite match up with some of the other reviews); bit piney and earthy; balanced really well, though and had a more roasted tasting malt in the finish. Medium to thicker; rich and full; nice carbonation; a little creamy. Really enjoyable, and lower abv makes this a great session brew

Aroma floral and lightly caramelly with some light fruity notes. Flavor lightly toasty but very juicy with bready notes and plenty of balancing hops. Not a whole lot of excitement I guess, but just a nice, ya know, beer.

Growler from Big Z Beverage. Pours a clear deep orange with a small white head. Aroma of floral hops, light fruits, caramel malt, toasted malt. Flavor of grainy, toasted malt with a fruity, sweet finish. Pretty decent ESB and certainly very drinkable. Well done! 7/4/7/4/14 [3.6/5]

Draft. Ginger Man, NYC. Deep gold body. Frothy tan head, slowly diminishing. Hop aroma, but somewhat slight, of grapefruit and pine with notes of toasted grain, sweet malt. The flavor is lightly sweet and moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body with a watery texture and lively carbonation. Not a great ESB. Just OK.

Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Floral hop aroma with toasty malts. The flavor is well balanced with sweet malt, light toast, and floral/herbal hops. Very drinkable.

CUJO (383) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - SEP 7, 2009
sample: RNH: pours a very dark red/ amber with a good looking, very dry head. Tastes very bitter and malty... a very middle of the road brew, not too great.

sweet malt aroma. Surprisingly boozing sting considering the alc content.  Malt, pine hops that border on metallic.   Not impressive
