Very pale straw coloured brew with a nice noble hop aroma. Assertive bitterness and a bit of fresh straw/hay pilsner malt. Big assertive hop flavour and aroma. It’s quite nice.

Nice tasty american lager. Poured gold w/moderate head, enough hops to add flavoring but without destroying the lager essence. Good stuff.

Tap at Rattle n Hum: Pours a golden with great clarity and a strong well retained white head. Crispy clean aroma displaying dry bread crust like malts- crackery and grassy with a mild peppery noble hop presence. Incredibly creamy and substantial body with a dry clean flavor. Again, bread crust and dry crackery (pils?) pale malts with a lemon peel like brightness precedes a peppery and dry finish. An outstanding session lager!
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Acetobacter (816) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 18, 2010
Experienced via draft in a pub glass. Given the quality of Bear Republic’s other offerings, I was expecting a beer more akin to their Dortmunder Export or at the very least, something like Sam Adams’ Boston Lager. Instead, this arrived. The beer pours the characteristic straw-colored yellow with a moderate white head. The nose is faint and pale. A prevalent note of alcohol dominates other grainy pilner-derived character. The palate fails to improve the initial disappointment. Again, heavy alcohol comes first, followed by a bitterness flacid grainy note and insipid mouth feel. The finish is clean and dry, but really serves only to allow the aforementioned flavors to linger in the mouth. Overall, a poor effort from an otherwise excellent brewery.

Tap at Pacific Standard. Pours a slight hazy medium golden with a lasting thin white head. TOasty malt aroma backed up with a good earthy zesty and floral hops fresh. Bready dough malt, light sweetness some honey, floral and spicy hops and a decent crisp pilsner malt backbone for 6.5%- easy drinking.

Clear yellow with a almost no head. Faint malty aroma and a strong grain taste with some alcohol notes to the finish.
