Darker brown ruby than the Nor Cal with more carbonation. Tastes and smells like a stout to me.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy golden reddish with a small tan head. Vague roasted malt aroma. Light breadish note. Roasted malt and light fruity hops note. Medium bitter and slight fruity into the far finish. Simple and easy.

On tap for the RBSG 009, thanks again to the fantastic hospitality shown by Bear Republic. Hoppy, dry dark amber pour, this is pretty nice for 3.2 abv.

SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - JUL 17, 2009
Draught at the brewpub during RBSG. Dark amber with a medium-sized head. caramel and fresh bread aroma. flavors of caramel, spicy bread, and strong piney bitterness. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Seemed a bit too over-hopped for a mild, and lacked the malt to stand up to the bitterness

IrishBoy (3805) - Bakersfield, California, USA - JUL 17, 2009
Draft at the pub on RBSG Bus Tour! Hazy copper with a medium beige head. Nose of light caramel and a hint of flowers. Flavor was very light bitterness and caramel malts.
