Pass through the event horizon with this IPA2. American Cascades meld a citrus blast with spicy English First Golds. Savor an intense hoppiness, smooth bitterness and subtle malt character. Prepare to go hypersonic!

On rap at urge. Golden amber with tiny head. Nose hoppy goodness and light malt. Taste very even hop and malt. Not overpowering in any facet. Hides the abv remarkably. Nice hoppy ipa flavor. Dangerous.

on tap at papago 12/16/2010. iced tea colored pale orange with a sticky whitish head which lasts as a film. seems to be a little hazy. the aroma is fairly unassuming until it warms up... some pine, citrus, bubblegum, pale malt, some vanilla and woodiness. the flavor is the same and oddly not hoppy... until it is swallowed. then it gets bitter and super hoppy in the lingering aftertaste. sweetness is in the distance which helps the medium body and crispness easy enough to put away... a few. 7/3/7/4/16/3.7

On tap at Churchkey. Served in a snifter. Pours an orangish-copper color with a short single-finger white head. There is a bit of lacing dotting the sides of the glass, but not all too much. The nose is pretty weak and I can’t believe this is considered a double IPA. There are some light citrus and pine hops that come through as well as a bit of light malt. The taste is a bit more substantial with a bit of orange, pine, and some light floral notes. There is a touch of bready malt in the background, though that comes out stronger in the mouthfeel. Feel is slightly bitter on a medium body. No alcohol presence at all. This goes down smoothly and drinks surprisingly well for its ABV, but doesn’t have all that much going on. Not a lot of head. Golden color. Pine and citrus aromas. Taste is hoppy and piney with malt notes. Palate is light and creamy. Overall, a pleasantly surprising yet approachable IPA. On tap at Lucky Pie.

Growler at Max and Jess’s place. Pours a clear golden orange with a thin white head. Big bright citrus, touches of sweet piney booze, honey and citrus. Resinous and dank, earthy. Toasty malt, crisp big bitter grapefruit.

Growler I shared at Max’s FF winnings tasting. Pours a full gold with standard white head. Aroma is full of spruce, lemon, and perfume with a touch of vomit. Flavor is heavy of lemon and hibiscus. Really nice and thick mouthfeel of spruce without being too prickly. Fairly impressive IIPA.

Tasting at MaxDaddy’s house. The aroma has a decent earthy, citrus quality, I think "wild" might be a good adjective for it. The appearance is gold/orange, white head, true to its style. The flavor is earthy, somewaht metal. The finish is the same. Medium in body. Not bad at all, but the addition of these wild hops probably gave the beer its slightly strange taste and finish.

Growler at Max’s tasting. Pours gold with a white head. Fruity hoppy aroma with grassy notes and a light sweetness. The flavor has grassy and fruity hops with some malty sweetness. Solid.

Draft at Capone’s. This one can be summed up real quick, grapefruit and a touch of alcohol. Good looking pour clear honey orange/red body underneath a soapy white head. Aroma of grapefruit, alcohol and a hint of cat piss. Flavor was all grapefruit and alcohol. Palate was almost harsh from the dryness and strong carbonation. Okay but I like my DIPAs either more balanced or from a different hop combo to add more depth.
