Pass through the event horizon with this IPA2. American Cascades meld a citrus blast with spicy English First Golds. Savor an intense hoppiness, smooth bitterness and subtle malt character. Prepare to go hypersonic!

growler filled yesterday poured an orange amber in color with a covering of white head. aroma has citrus rind, medium bitterness, pines, nice malted body, and a light tropic hit. medium mouth feel with a low side prickly carbonation. flavor has good assertive oily hops, medium bitterness, dry citrus, pine, and a sweet malt. finish sticks for a while and there is a light alcohol snap.

Draft, City Beer Store. This beer poured a darkened orange-amber color with an alright off-white head. Sweet lemon rind, grass and wildflowers in the aroma. Both the aroma and taste were a fair bit sweeter than expected, though not in a cloying, malty sense. The taste was a bit sweet and unaggressive for my preferences. Thereís some hop bite in the finish, but this isnít a terribly assertive DIPA. That said, itís not too malty or sticky. The English hops provide a nice floral/grassy flavor that is quite pleasant. Good beer, but itís not my favorite DIPA from BR.

On tap at City Beer. Clear golden color with a small white head and good lacing. Hoppy citrusy and hop aroma with sweet pale malt and maybe even a slight Belgian note. The flavor is hop-forward but a little bit of a letdown considering the high expectations I have for a Bear Republic IIPA. The hops are resinous floral, and pale malt is pretty big, more like an east coast IPA. Decent resinous palate, not too syrupy although the body is medium-full. Iíd like a little more hop punch from this one. Itís fine, but not one of their best offerings.
