COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This extreme Double Imperial IPA is brewed with American Cascades and English First Gold hops for a deliciously unique hop profile. Bitter, malty, with a definite alcohol note, this beer is one of our most assertive and extreme.

Handbottle thanks to thirdeye11. Pours with a clear copper body and small head. Aroma of herbal hops, light citrus and caramel. Taste is herbal hops and more caramel. Light bubbles and a dry finish. No Racer X, but nice.

I had this at the Austin Flying Saucer during their Beer Festival on October 24, 2009. They said it was the first keg of it tapped in Texas, so who wouldn’t order a glass, right? It has a slightly dark amber color and a musky hop aroma. Its spotty lacing looks like a Rorschach Test. Its aroma is of amber malt with something almost over-ripened lurking in its musk, much like how old bananas are needed for good banana bread. Not that this had banana qualities at all; it was just a metaphor. Its flavor is more of the same musky hop quality, very English. It’s easy to guess a double IPA, but it has a notable dirty quality that makes it unique. Manly. This is beer. The muskiness tastes less moldy at a warmer temperature, so let it sit for a little while so it doesn’t taste like an underground cellar in a medieval English pub.

(draught) pours opaque orange, low head and ok lace. Nose is muted citrus hops, oranges. Taste is bitter hops beyond belief. No real malt to balance it. Citrus rind bitter oils dominate. Not happy with this one.

Draft at South Park Tavern in Dayton, OH. A big malt presence strikes first, then a mouthful of lovely, bitter, piney hops. This beer gets better as it warms. The fruit comes out along with some heat. An excellent offering from BR.

Tap from South Park Tavern. Poured a cloudy gold/orange color. Very fruity aroma (what I could smell being sick). Great taste of hops and flavors of citrus. A little bitter going down. Now the best Double IPA but very good nonetheless.

Draught at CAH: Aroma of hops, grapefruit, and pine. Poured amber in color with a small to medium-sized, rocky, tan, head that lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Not sparkling. Very good lacing. Flavor is medium bitter. Tastes of hops, pine, light caramel malts, and slight citrus. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Hop and malt finish is bitter and dry. 8.7%ABV is totally hidden.

[Draft @ CAH] Amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of woody hops, some pine, citrus fruits, some floral, orange, and toasted malt. Taste of raw, bitter hops, woody, slightly tannic, toast, light caramel, citrus, and grapefruit, with a bit of alcohol at the end.

Tasted on tap at the Bistro Double IPA Festival on 2/7/2009. This imperial IPA pours a slightly cloudy orange gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is floral and citrusy. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are floral and citrusy. Lots of orange flavors. Nicely balanced. A medium bitter IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pineapple and fruit on the front palate and super bitter on the finish. Nice progression of the flavors with at least three distinct flavors.
