COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This extreme Double Imperial IPA is brewed with American Cascades and English First Gold hops for a deliciously unique hop profile. Bitter, malty, with a definite alcohol note, this beer is one of our most assertive and extreme.

From a draft pour at The Local Beer Bar in Eureka, CA..Pours an orange - amber with a creamy off white head and a lot of lacing. This is sort of like Racer 10 on steroids. Nose of citrus and pine. Full body and bit of an alcoholic mouthful, but not overly so. The flavor is powerful, with lots of bittering hops. and the finish is long, dry and intensely biter. Very tasty and as a DIPA fan right up my alley. Loved it.

Hazy deep orange color, small white head. Rye-bready, piney-hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Sweet, quite alcoholic, bready, piney. Lingering sweet malty fruityness in the aftertaste with some herbal notes.

ROGUE (2127) - Newark, Delaware, USA - MAR 9, 2012
On tap (State Line Liquors tasting). Poured a clear dark amber almost with an off white head that had good head retention and lace. A big aroma of hops, citrus and pine. Taste is a nice balance of sweet malts and citrus hops that leave a nice lingering bitter finish. Medium to full-bodied with a chewy yet slick character and a bitter finish that diminishes as the beer warms.

Talked with the owner of Bear Rep. while sampling. He noted the finishing hops used are a hybrid of East Kent Goldings and Centennial. m&d: slick mouth, medium bodied. Very drinkable DIPA.

Draught at Monk Cafe SF. Light clean grapefruit, thin but nice hop smells. Light orange hazy beer with great lace in rings. Taste starts sweet but becomes intensely bitter, it’s dominating feature. The mouthfeel, dry and soft. An amazing mouthfeel on a pretty looking beer but the rest is surprisingly lacking for Bear Republic.

On tap at Mad Mex. Cloudy orange brown with a pillowy off-white head. Nose is orange, caramel and dough with hints of pine. Creamy medium body with a lively tingle. Taste is grapefruit, orange peel, caramel, pine and lemon basil. Not a total hop bomb but still tasty with good balance.

citrus hop fruit overload. fresh malt overload, with a touch of malt funk. heavyish alcohol burn and formidable body in it’s deep amber color. some refinement held in check. too much is never enough.

10oz pour is a basically opaque bright orange with a frothy white head. Note is standard for a DIPA, malty, pine, oranges, grapefruit. Flavor is sort of straight forward too, lemon bitterness, malty sweetness, candied orange. Full bodied, sweet finish. Alcohol is warming without being hot.

Great beer but have had more impressive doubles ipa. Has a great taste and mouthfeel. Love the lingering biterness no head retention although my server does not know how to pour a sprite from a good beer
