This extreme Double Imperial IPA is brewed with American Cascades and English First Gold hops for a deliciously unique hop profile. Bitter, malty, with a definite alcohol note, this beer is one of our most assertive and extreme.

A golden amber DIPA with a thin white head. In aroma, a nice caramel malt with pungent meaty floral hops, menthol, a bit murky but nice. In mouth, a good biscuit malt with floral hops, menthol, herbal and very nice. On tap at Rattle’n’Hum, Dec. 28 2011.

Growler served in a tulip. Dense dark orange with a short off-white head. Good retention and watery lacing. Subtle orange and lemon citrus, floral hops, and heavy malt undertones on the nose. Similar flavors. Full body, creamy texture, decent carbonation, and a long bitter sweet finish. Extreme IPA...no. Extremely balanced for a big IPA, yes. Well done.

On tap at Max’s, Baltimore. Huge gleaming bright orange pour with a thick, creamy two-finger head. Sumptuously sweet tropical fruits in the nose along with substantial malt backing. Mouthfeel is full and not too slick despite the overall trend away from dry and bitter towards sweeter flavors. In some ways it’s almost a malt forward DIPA like Denogginizer, though there’s just so much fruit going on it’s hard to avoid the hoppy madness. Hints of booze and bitter hops in the finish. Pretty good.

Bear republic mach 10.... hazy orange amber, off white head, nice lacing, retentive... very piney flavor, sprucy perhaps, certainly english, interesting, but this is certainly notthe clean dipa I like... muddled creamy body, lightlly herbal, aroma is similar to flavor, full bodied... 7 5 7 4 15

Draught. Pours a cloudy orange with a white head. Smells of orange peels. Tastes of citrus, medium sweetness and medium hoppyness. Medium body. Texture is syrupy. Soft carbonation. Finishes bitter.

On draft at City Beer. It pours cloudy orange with an orangy head. The aroma is malty with some caramel toffee and very fruity hop character. Mostly apricots and peaches. It does have a rather spicy bitter finish, but I was disappointed by the lack of hop flavor and aroma compared to their other IPA’s.

Full bodied golden 2XIPA which filled out the goblet well. Aroma of pine and biscuit malt, full bodied with some caramel and sweet malts. Had a UK feel to it and not exactly "EXTREME!".

Draft at Haymarket. Pretty underwhelming, this one. Pours a deep gold, towards copper with a sticky head. The nose is fruity with some strong pine notes and caramel permeating. On taste, intensely bitter and dry but then the caramel rolls across the palate, muddying the waters. A lot more of the pine cone notes. Just not really a great beer. I think the hops and caramel malts are the culprit here. Meh.
