Pass through the event horizon with this IPA2. American Cascades meld a citrus blast with spicy English First Golds. Savor an intense hoppiness, smooth bitterness and subtle malt character. Prepare to go hypersonic!

On tap somewhere in San Diego...backlogged rating in my phone. Deep golden color with medium carbonation. Aroma is hardcore orange citrus. Flavor is overwhelming lemon and orange citrus with a heavy malt base...I like my DIPAís like this. Malty backbone is a bit too sweet though...lower double IPA bitterness than expected. OK I guess.

Bottle from Whole Foods. Pours a clear golden orange hue with a medium white head. A light toast and orange nose. The flavor is sharp sweet citrus, resin, deep hot oranges. A big spicy bite. Very interesting. Comes in with a sharp alcohol heat that is a bit off putting. Itís good no doubt. Butterscotch sweet toasted malts.

Pours partially on the table, but once it found it to the glass it was hazy amber with a huge head with good lace/retention (4 --> 3 for gushing). Aroma is grapefruit, pine, orange, caramel, citrus. Medium to full bodied, moderate to high bitterness, not bad I just wish I drank the full 650ml instead of 500ml.

Tap at whole foods in Katy. Hazy reddish caramel color with a resilient milky cream colored head with heavy lacing. Tropical, toasted caramel, aroma with a hint of pine. Fruity and sweet taste with mild actual bitterness except for what lingers in the finish. Full bodied, smooth.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Hoboken Vine, 5/24/16

Aroma: The nose is bready, with spice, pine hops, and some rye as well, didnít get much citrus here
Appearance: Murky mostly orange color with a thick, creamy off-white head and coating lace
Flavor: Leans stronger toward the bread / spice up-front, with hop bitterness in the mid-through-close
Palate: Medium-full bodied, a little sticky, a little creamy, and with a strong, heavy dry closure
Overall Impression: This is some pretty solid stuff for a brewery whoís hoppy beers I have enjoyed for years. Stronger on the spice side than most IPAs and DIPA, more reminiscent of a Rye DIPA. Itís also not the most complex citrus or pine hop aroma or flavor for an IPA, but itís got the bitterness part covered. Pretty nice looking beer with a good mouthfeel, and the flavor is solid too.

American pint, keg. Pours medium amber with medium light haze and a medium thin white head subsiding average. Scent is medium light citrus and light soap. Taste is dense early hops with very high bitterness. Hints of hickory smoke on the nose. Little bit of wood resins and a little soap. Mouthfeel is medium dense creamy and light dryness. Nearly a great beer.

Bottle from Wegmans in Collegeville. The Mach 10 poured an orange color with a thick, pillowy beige head. The nose features some grassy, fruity and piney hops, along with a good amount of bready malt. The body is very well balanced. Nothing about this beer really stands out. The hop profile is delicious, with piney and bitter flavors. Thereís just the right amount of malt on the palate as well. But nothing really jumps out of the glass that separates this beer from another.
