Pours amber with big, thick head that doesn’t stick around too long. It is very nicely balanced, with flavors of sweet caramel, resinous citrus hops, fruity esters, and a balancing bitterness. Very little alcohol presence. Nice and smooth for such a big beer.

Pours a burnt orange color. aroma of grapes, toffee, and caramel. Big caramel, bitter pine, and brown sugar in the flavor. Finishes with grapefruit and char. I had hopes for this, but it suffers from a complete lack of finesse, though no one thing was really bad about it.

Hazy red/brown and creamy. Caramel/toffee hints of fruit (deep and darkish) Quite toasty and savoury though. Very big booziness with kicks of liquorice very rich treacly flavours. Amazing burnt sugar finish. Still. A great snifter.
