True to its description this sumptuous smelling beer comes on like roasted brown sugar, perhaps a hint of barley. Very little head in my pub glass out of the bomber. Its slightly sweet in the mouth with mild carbonation and a full body, but not syrup-y. Its a lot like Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar but without the Hazelnut. I highly enjoy this beer. It may replace the aforementioned brown ale as my favorite.

Bottled (from Ales By Mail). Ambery brown colour, mediumsized beige fluffy/creamy head which leaves good lace. Aroma is chocolate, wood, some bready and toffeeish malts along with some citrus and herbal notes. Flavour is toffee, nuts, some chocolate, mild wood, resin and some earthy and herbal notes. Nice fruity and chocolaty aftertaste with also some mild notes of nuts.

Shared with my new best friend Joe. I like him because he’s not funnier than me so I can feel superior, also he knows far less than me about beer so I feel good about myself, this makes him a more palatable mentee. Nutty, chocolaty, full bodied goodness. I’m a great guest.

Bomber poured into glass. Another solid offering from Bear Republic. If your in the mood for a straight forward Brown then this would be a good choice. Nutty and slightly malty but other then that it’s pretty straight forward.
