Hazy golden color with small creamy head. Nice aroma, with some fruity hops and some cheesy yeast. Smooth mouthfeel, malt flavor, light biscuity impression; it has a powerful hopping, providing extreme bitterness, resins and some fruitiness.
A solid IPA, but not very fresh character.

2006-03-26, bottle at Freakin’ Frog, Las Vegas, 7-5-8-5-16=41
Hazy amber color; creamy head, nice lace. Nice fruity aroma (apricots). Malty taste, medium strength, with a good fruity aromatic hopping. One American IPA like many others, that is: I like it.

From bomber thanks to Immy. Pours a light orange with lots of suspended yeast (my fault) and a cloudy white head. Good lacing. Big citrus, some sourness and floral make a very appealing nose. Flavor is smooth for an IPA with nice citrus, lemony notes as well as following the nose. Nice.

Wonderful golden color. Superb grassy nose. This is a Great beer. I supose it might have the West Coast Hop Head syndrome, but this is a Great IPA! Full mouthfeel, hoppy, but not overly bitter. Bear Republic sure has the foamy head down, thick and lacey all the way down. In my top five list of IPA’s

22 oz. bottle - Pours a hazy copper color with an off white head that lasts. Nice floral and citrus hop aroma. Big hop flavor with a lingering bitter aftertaste. Hardly any residual malt sweetness. Light to medium body. This beer is missing its bite. It may be past its expiration date. Still, it’s a good beer.

Bottle Pours a clear golden with a fizzy white head, that produces good lacing and lasts fairly well. Has a good hoppy aroma of spruce. Has an oily texture with good carbination. Has a real good duration with a nice strong bitter finish. This is what I love in an IPA. Bold and powerfull. Very well done. Has a very smooth ability to hit you with a solid bitterness. I highly recommend this one.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2007 Deserves its high rating, simply a great IPA. Balanced but powerful hop presence, great looking and smelling beer. Enjoyed in a large bomber, interested in trying other BR offerings.

Immy (1955) - Virginia Beach, USA - APR 3, 2006
Hazy orange with tons of floaties thanks to gputty’s crappy pour. Big, rocky white head. Citrusy sour orange nose, with some underlying pine notes. Lovely lace rings. Smooth, slightly syrupy body. Medium bitter finish, with a touch of sticky grapefruit. I like it, but I feel it is slightly overrated.

Large head, cloudy yellow colour. Citrus hop nose, mediuem body with only a hint of maltiness. Not overly bitter, not overly big either.

Large, linguring head. Nice hops aroma. One of my favorite IPAs, though I am not generally a fan.

Blistering citrus rind nose. Copper colored. Medium nectar. Big froth that takes it’s time to dissipate. Ample residual effers. This is IPA madness with hints on the grapefruit side. Huge lime rind, sickening. I spotted some corriander-esque flavors on the finish. This is one huge hop. They say only 69 IBUs, my ass, seems like 1000. Felt like I was swallowing tiny glass shards.
