22oz bomber, no date. Pours a clear copper with a large fluffy off-white head. Aroma of citrus and pine, caramel malts. Flavor has a lot of caramel sweetness to balance out the piney hops, not really a lot of bitterness--one of the lesser bitter IPAs--but very delicious nonetheless. Medium mouthfeel, light carbonation--I think since most of it went to the head, which is still pretty thick throughout my glass, leaving great lacing behind.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2009 Bomber. Pours amber with a nice thick white lacing head. Great looking beer. Nice strong aroma of citrus and floral hops. Nice malt backbone behind a pleasantly aggressive piney hop bitterness. Bitter finish is semi dry and herbal. Not too resiny or sticky. Very nicely done and not overpriced. So far, Bear Republic has yet to make any mistakes with me

Robe dorée claire surmontée d’une mousse blanche mince qui persiste. Arômes de sapin, de houblon herbacé et de malt caramélisé. Saveurs de sapin et de houblon amérisant.

I came across this on tap at the local Hard Times Cafe on a lunch outing... mmm, delicious. Seemed to pour quite dark with a good head. Taste and aroma was nicely hoppy! Extremely drinkable, so drinkable that I went back for another couple the following day.

Avg off white head, great lacing, med orange body. Spruce and grapefruit hop aromas. Great IPA. Perfect balance, too drinkable, on many occasions.

Pours a deep, rich copper colour. Fluffy white head that leaves great lacing. Good hop aroma predominates malt base. Hop descriptors are tangy, zesty, and slightly minty. A bit a of sweet finish, but overall a good balance.

Pours a very pale yellow-orange, with a small ephemeral head that leaves lace. One of the palest pale ales I’ve ever had, to tell you the truth. I believe that this bottle is pretty fresh and the aroma is outstanding, with heavy West Coast hops - oranges and citron flower aromas come on very strong. Very balanced flavors, a little malt sweetness with a citric, almost sour bitterness. Body is light and refreshing and hop resins seem to coat your mouth, with long-lingering tastes and aromas. This one is an excellent IPA -- not my favorite (I’ve only had it twice), but damn close.

I have had this in bottle, as well as on tap in San Diego and at the brewery in Healdsburg. It’s another great west coast IPA from a very good brewery. Looks, tastes and smells just as you would expect. Wonderful stuff. It’s got a nice, sweet taste, but not overpowering.

When I fired up this page to write this review, I actually began to salivate. This stuff is delicious. This has all the right elements for a sturdy IPA: strong hop nose, balanced malt/hop and it looks almost like apple cider in the glass. Fresh, delicious beer! I can drink a lot of this before someone wishes to beat me up. And, at 7%, I say "Bring it on!"
