4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Courtesy of Ughsmash via trade. Aroma is 100% grapefruit hops. Pours a hazy amber with a moderate yellowish-white head with decent retention. Lacing clings to the side of the glass. Quick initial caramel up front is quickly combined with a moderate citrus and grapefruit hop finish. Slight touch of acidity in the finish. A hint of apricot hides in the background. Leans toward the malty side, but I like the balance.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This IPA pours with a rocky off-white head with ring lacing on a cloudy golden body. It has a refreshing grapefruit hop smell with overtones of citric and pine hops. The smell alone makes my mouth water! A good earthy hoppy bitterness dominates this lively beer. It has a nice dry taste with a long body, as can be expected in an IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
cloudy amber color with a thick rocky white head that lasts quite a while. Grapefruit aroma with a rather bitter grapefruit taste.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft, Baja Bean, Staunton VA. Light golden color, a bit light for the style, with white head. Subtle and well-balanced nose of grapefruit citrus and earthy/piney hops. Medium body, perfect smooth carbonation, with well-balanced flavors of light caramel malt and earthy hop bitterness. I was surprised by the 7%-- it’s completely masked. All in all a solid IPA. Very enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is a light amber IPA with a firm head that leaves copious lacing. The aroma leaps from the glass, filling my nostrils with intense grapefruit, spruce and overpowers the malt to some extent. The flavor is also full of hops with the aroma blending seamlessly into the flavor and a bracing bitternness throughout. It finishes somewhat full- not quite sweet, but off-dry, not surprising for a 7% beer. A great example of an IPA.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A vey good IPA. Perhaps not to the level of Stone or Alesmith, but very close. Strong hop aroma and flavor, but still very drinkable. This would be a favorite for a hot day.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours golden orange with light lacing and just a bit of quick to dissipate head. The aroma is fresh green vines. Lightly sweet, fresh grain (almost like wheat), also some orangish citrus hops, well integrated. Flavor has Great crisp grain and grassy/bitter hops (pine and spices). Light sweetness and a bit orange like. Medium body, semi-crisp. Very nice, a good drink.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2009 I stand by this IPA! It never lets me down! huge rocky white head, deep orange, copper, super hoppy nose, fruity trix centennial nose, mildly sweet smooth palate, intense fruity hops, good malt balance, some of these fruity flavors don’t seem to be hop derived... seem estery

Pours a orange color with a small of white head. aroma has grapefruit, hops and some grassy notes. Flavor is hoppi yet sweet. A very nice drinking beer, however I would like it to be more hoppy.
