Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a large foamy off white head that sustained and laced. Aroma of sweet grapefruit, floral and pine. Just a really nice hoppy and citrus aroma with some sweetness coming in from the malts. Flavor was even more hops. Kind of tastes like you’re chewing on a couple hops. Citrus some malt to balance as well as some bitterness. Really enjoyed this IPA overall. Glad I found it at Total Wine in Claymont DE...should have picked up the Big Bear Black too. Maybe next time.

Almost luminating deep orange coloured beer with a very creamy and fluffy slight yellow-white froth. Aroma is one and all refreshing hops, it is like putting your head in a bag with fresh hop bells. It is really an explosion of hops, pine needles, grapefruits, Alp-flowers and dry malts. Taste is dry and has a mild roundness, also touches of peach-pits and and bitter orange-skin. The afthertaste is long, complex and mineral. A true hop-booster with a female elegance. This is a real hop sensation.

Beautiful copper-gold colour with a sparkling hue; good off-white, frothy head. Amazing, beau-ti-ful dry- C-hops nose, terribly enticing (grapefruit, light resiny, piney). More grapefruit in the taste, but extremely dry; thick wild grapes, tart. There is a certain unidimensionality, but for this type of beer, that’s perfectly OK. Another very drinkable beer. Certain oily slickness, overlying a rather easy drinking beer, medium bodied at best. A top-IPA, which is everything this type of beer ought to warrant. Hilde "Urthel", please retry this for another example...

I consider myself fortunate that I can buy 20oz bombers of this for cheap at the corner store anytime I wish, which is often. Darkish gold when poured, not much of a head and no lacing to speak of. Very piney in the nose, about as close to an Alpine PH as you can get. Both are in the same class. You have to wonder if the Brewers from Alpine and BR have exchanged notes. Although both still retain their distinctive IPA styles through subtle differences in hop flavoring, the aromas are nearly indistinguishable. A must for any hop-mongering IPA fan.

This is one of the best beers in the U.S. made by one of the best(& consistant) breweries. The hop aroma jumps out before the 1st sip, a golden barely hazy color with a nice even head that lasts the better part of the pint(depends on quickly you consume). The hops engulf your mouth without going overboard.

On tap at the Library Ale House, Santa Monica, CA. Hazy light amber with an egg-white like foam, leaving nice lacing. Potent citrus and grassy hop aroma. There are floral, perfumy notes as well. A very bitter IPA. Flavours are rounded citrus (lime) with some earthy notes. Perfume and rosebuds. Medium-bodied. A great IPA and the relatively light compared to other IPAs makes it dangerously drinkable. A worship to the hop, but the varieties used are relatively smooth.

Another one in my top 5 IPA’s. Floral aroma with hops from the Northwest....I love cascade hops! Nice golden yellow pour with perfect head. Slightly more creamy than most IPA’s. A great one!

Crystal Clear for being bottle conditioned, this beer boasts a great citrus aroma with a sharp but clean bitterness. The balance is beautiful for such a big IPA. It is very drinkable and pleasant and actually lives up to the hops the label boasts about. Great beer!

22 oz. bottle. Bottle conditioned. Pours orangish yellow, just a little cloudy, ~1 cm. white head, a little lacing. Smells nice, picking up some citrus, maybe a little floral aroma. Tastes great, nice high bitterness with citrusy, piney, floraly hop flavor, balanced nicely with a tiny bit of a sweet maltiness. Little creamier, oilier mouthfeel than say a Stone IPA. I really liked this beer, a great IPA, right up my alley.
