Bottle at the Smiths. Pours golden with minimal head. Piney nose with very little citrus (3 months). Mildly resinous, bitter taste balanced well by malt bill. Dry finish, as expected. More of Pacific NW style than West Coast. Solid IPA.

Ljus kådafärg, relativt klar med lite jäst, vit krona, humlig kåda doft som också går igenom i smaken, tallbarr & djup stickig beska i eftersmak ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. Floral hops in the nose, some citrus, spicy pine. Medium sweet flavor with mellow pale malt sugars, tangerine, alcohol, grapefruit, pine needles. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with a little resin, flowers, pithy citrus. An OK old-school IPA.

Draft at source. Nose is huge in piney and citrus hops. Crystal clear pale yellow with small white head. Taste is initially bitter followed by a pine forward hop profile with faint citrus notes. Nice. A touch of alcohol noted in the ears.

Clear golden pour with a touch of amber. Outstanding head volume and retention, world class lacing. Outstanding nose of citrus hops, rind and pine with a subtle dank tickle underneath. Almost medium body with a smooth texture that has an oily component. World class carbonation with a bursting effervescent middle and a finely bubbled prickly finish. The flavor profile is quite outstanding and is masterfully balanced. It begins with a blended hop flavor (heavy on the pine and rind) that slowly tails off into a subtle dank element. Orange arrives along with the subtle dank notes as the middle approaches over a succulent balancing sweetness of bready biscuit and light caramel. Bitterness is moderate and perfectly balanced. The finish delivers a very slight alcohol note and associated astringency. A slow fade of sweet orange rind lingers.

Bottle. Poured a deep gold, some hop haze, and a foamy white head. Aroma of plenty of citrus with a balanced sweet malt presence. Flavor had tangerine, lemon, biscuit, and a touch of sweet malts. Decently balanced. I’m more into the fruit bombs IPAs of today, but this one is good and has been around forever. Gotta respect the Racer 5 and how consistent Bear Republic has been with it.
