UPDATED: APR 25, 2011 Pours an orangish amber with medium white head, lots of lacing. Aroma of floral and slight citrus hops, pine, caramel, and strong malt. Flavor matches, but overdone. They just don’t have the combination right or something. Heavy body, slick mouthfeel. Drinkable, but nothing I would go back to. Update 4/26/11: Available in MI now, so I thought I would try again. Read my old rating and completely agreed. I was really hoping for more, but there are a minimum of 20 IPAs I have readily available I would go to first.

22ounce bottle. Pours a nice golden with a two inch white head that slowly collapses. Taste is of hops, pine, resin, malt and caramel. Similar aroma. Has a mostly full body with a slight dry and bitter finish. Easy to drink and refreshing. An excellent IPA.

Rating #1917 - 2015.09.24 #CraftTakesSeattle Beer 16 - Bottleshare. Pours a rich golden, small white head, minimal lacing. Aroma is grapefruity, pine, lemon rind, toffee, light pithy orange. On the palate, similar citrus and pine zest, mild resin, mild pastry dough malt. Medium bodied and extraordinarily balanced. Bitterness is solid, citrusy, refreshing, with a great bite in the finish. Phenomenal.

33cl bottle. I always find a 4/5 for a well done simple IPA. And this is definitely a nice, well balanced and easy to drink one. Typical aroma of tropical fruits with an extra mango, pomelo and some strawberry in the back. Of course some little cheese cake and muffin like malt notes. Easy going, creamy texture with soft skinny milk like mouth feel. Here also so much balance, Sweet with bitter are equally strong but more on the bitter/dry side which is ...well...balanced. Good stuff.

Like a proper racer: beautiful balance + more power under bonnet than in its exhaust fumes. Nice hops (papaya, pineapple, faint mango), pine and touch of orange-y caramel. Even better body (orange-y caramel) and med-to-long finish featuring bitter hops and bready malt.

On tap at Sweeney’s in St Paul. Very solid IPA. Drinkable and leaves the potential for a second if the night allows
