hopheadfett (50), Oak Ridge, New Jersey, USA Jul 13, 2009 Pours a relatively light orange/amber, with some cloudiness, decent off-white head that diminishes and stays thin. Good lace. Nose of hops, slight citrus, slight spice. Taste is excellent, notes of citrus initially, then comes bitter with hops, yet finishes smooth. Not extreme, just balanced. I could definitely session an IPA like this. MrRoss (614), Delta, British Columbia, Canada Jul 8, 2009 From Firefly. Rich and hazy copper body under a smallish yet enduring creamy ivory head. Good, snappy hop aroma and likewise was the flavour and mouth. Bitter finish, solid mouth, A quality beer. JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Jul 7, 2009 Bottle sample at the Columbus Alefest on 6/27/09. Cloudy orange pour with a medium beige head. Citrus hop aroma with some bready malt. Orange hop flavor up front with some malt sweetness and a grapefruit grassy finish. Tasty. curly (548), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jul 7, 2009 Pours hazy amber with a thick foamywhite head. Sweet pine, grapefruit, and orange aroma. Taste is quite bitter with pine and has the malt balance needed for this to be such a great beer. Tommyp007 (27), Kingsport, Tennessee, USA Jul 6, 2009 Pours light amber with a 1 inch frothy head. Aroma of grapefruit and other citrus. Not as hoppy as some IPA’s but a very smooth drink. Top notch. GranvilleTim (465), Granville, Illinois, USA Jul 5, 2009 Golden yellow pour with a nice white head. Nice hop aroma. Hop taste is well balanced with the maltiness . It is a heavy beer-it leaves a nice piney hop flavor and malt in your mouth. Nice lacing-it shows a layer for every sip taken. The head lasted until the end of the drink. doubelknv3 (559), Illinois, USA Jul 4, 2009 Grapefruit, orange, spice, sweet mild caramel malt aroma and flavour. Orange with white head...nice lacing. Bitter, with lasting dry finish. monkeychugg55 (213), Joliet, Illinois, USA Jul 1, 2009 Updated: Oct 13, 2009This one pours a slightly hazy orange with a medium white head that quickly becomes a small white film with little splotches of froth that give way to dots and ribbons of lace. The aroma from the bottle and while pouring was that wonderfully familiar Columbus and Cascade hops scent, but, as the head retreated, smelled more like allspice, pine resin, grapefruit, mango, orange, pineapple, bubblegum, with slightly floral notes. Bitter hops take center stage in the flavor, with a nice caramel malt balancing quietly from the sidelines. Fruit still somewhat present, but accompanied by a bitterness that lingers after the finish, with a slight spiciness throughout. Rich mouthfeel with very light carbonation. Very enjoyable, and more complex than expected.
