zapprentice (309), East Setauket, New York, USA May 16, 2009 Good brew. Pretty nice IPA. Smooth hops with citrus notes. Really nice and enjoyable beer. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA May 14, 2009 Bottle, decent brew with nice hops, nothing too over the top but solid for an IPA, 2 brews so far from this brewery and im pretty impressed. Good hops, decent malts easily drinkable. stefanje (934), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA May 14, 2009 650ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours a translucent copper color with a huge white head that had good retention and some lacing. The aroma is that of a citrus bomb, this thing has oranges, grapefruit, limes and just a hint of pine. The flavor pretty much follows the aroma, good biter hops that are citrusy set in a caramel and rock candy suspension. Very nice. The palate is full and malty smooth. The finish is long and biter, but just a little bit harsh. Overall: I was kinda surprised to see that I had not rated this before, an oversight, its one of my regular favs. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA May 13, 2009 12oz bottles supplied by Ryan at Funky Buddha. Pours a super clear amber with a fizzy white head. Big time citrus from the Cascade hops and a nice strong grapefruit note and even a slight bit of malt sweetness in the nose. Very nice. Flavor is big resiny, piney, citrus up front with a rather nice malt backbone giving this a fuller body than most IPA’s. Not hugely bitter but perfect for me. Finishes off with almost sweet orange rind and light bitterness that lingers with a hint of grapefruit. Very nice. j12601 (1141), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA May 12, 2009 On tap at Rattle & Hum. Pours a clear golden straw color with a medium white head. Aromas are piled high with citrus, pineapple, and a nice sweet maltiness. Medium bodied, a little sweet, with a nice honey note. Ends with a huge grapefruit bitterness. Really nice. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA May 11, 2009 22 oz. bomber bottle. Cloudy, opaque peachy orange with a short but lasting creamy offwhite head. Lovely softly sweet and floral aroma, oddly with some powdered sugar and vanilla notes. For a hop bomb, the flavor is nicely balanced, again with soft, sweet malts countered against strongly bitter hops and some more subtle flowery, perfumy hop notes. Medium bodied and very smooth - almost silky. Really nice IPA; the bottle conditioning gives it a cask-like quality that is most appreciated ericandersnavy (1037), crossroads, Texas, USA May 7, 2009 bottle thanks to boomer0813. poured gold with a white head. aroma of pineapple, floral hops, some grass, pretty sweet smelling. flavor was pine, floral, good bittering. body was medium-full body with low carbonation. almost slick like. pretty good IPA tokyogoat (503), San Diego, California, USA May 7, 2009 Pour is crisp and medium to light bodied, very drinkable in regards to body. The hops are packing some bitterness, so this makes it slightly less drinkable, but all the more enjoyable.
Grapefruit dances off your tongue with the perfect level of carbonation.
This beer is so good I could run over a puppy on the way home and still be smiling.
