ericandersnavy (1039), crossroads, Texas, USA May 7, 2009 bottle thanks to boomer0813. poured gold with a white head. aroma of pineapple, floral hops, some grass, pretty sweet smelling. flavor was pine, floral, good bittering. body was medium-full body with low carbonation. almost slick like. pretty good IPA tokyogoat (505), San Diego, California, USA May 7, 2009 Pour is crisp and medium to light bodied, very drinkable in regards to body. The hops are packing some bitterness, so this makes it slightly less drinkable, but all the more enjoyable.
Grapefruit dances off your tongue with the perfect level of carbonation.
This beer is so good I could run over a puppy on the way home and still be smiling. yemenmocha (344), Glendale, Arizona, USA May 7, 2009 Pale gold in color with overly generous head. Lots of Belgian lace as I drink it. Sexy.
Nose is fruity with pine, maybe apricot.
On the palate the peachy/apricot/mango whatever sweetness is quite pleasing, and of course the blast of hops to round things out. Surprisingly very drinkable for such a big IPA. Fuller bodied than I had expected. Preferably drink this one on its own. No food please. petematte46 (212), Dallas, Texas, USA May 6, 2009 Citrus-like aroma. Crisp -slight head good hoppy taste. Common go to IPA. Can get it in most states. Should be a staple in your closet. FedorStout (16), Anaheim, California, USA May 5, 2009 Bought at bevmo. Smell of citrus and grapefruit. Pours a copper color with good amount of carbonation. The flavor is a lot of citrus and grapefruit. Good ipa that I will drink again DuffManSW (283), Riverside, California, USA May 4, 2009 Random bottle picked up by my girlfriend from World Market..Good call...Pours copper with a fluffy off white head and lots of carbonation bubbles.. Smell is kinda muted for me, but there are pine and citrus hops in the aroma.. Flavor is alot of citrus hops with a sweet malt characteristic..Medium body.. This is a really good IPA.. I think I might have to make a sexy time with my girlfriend for this one!! Strykzone (1458), Wood River, Illinois, USA May 3, 2009 Crystal clear amber color with a one finger off white head that leaves some cool lacing. Light carbonation visible. Hops also dominate the flavor with very little sweetness to balance. The hops are predominately floral with some peppery spice that gives a sharp edge to the beer. It is also brings a big bitterness that grows as the beer warms. I wasn’t "sold" by aroma or appearance. But after tasting it I definitely was! This beer is amazingly well crafted. In so many ways it epitomizes what craft beer is all about. CheersMate1 (766), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 28, 2009 Didn’t have that very bright orange appearance I was hoping for, but it did have a nice fluffy head. Haze light orange in color. Slight corn flavor?! Maybe I am a little off because I just had an imperial/double IPA. Leaves some good lacing. Nice hop aroma. Very pungent. Pungent pine hop aromal. Hops are nice, especially the bittering hop. Not so much of a malt presence, which affects the texture. Actually a very good IPA. Very pleasant beer. Maybe not as good as the Hop Rod Rye, but a close second.
