andersand (271), Malmö, Sweden Mar 15, 2009 Good IPA leaning towards the hoppyer side of the force yet sweet in aroma and taste at first. The hops are perfumey and somewhat piney in the finish. I didn’t enjoy the body of this beer though, not as full as I would have liked and with a very harsh carbonation. Good tasting though but the body drags the drinkability down a notch too far. BroSpud (583), , Massachusetts, USA Mar 9, 2009 Updated: Apr 7, 200912oz bottle. Excellent IPA with tons of hops. Really the hops are almost over powering so if you are not a hop fan this one is not for you. I am so it is. ben4321 (953), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 9, 2009 Location: Had this out of a bottle a many times, I believe I got it at Total Wine in Richmond, VA the 1st time
Overall Impression:
Really enjoyable, pretty smooth IPA. Has some interesting flavors, packed with hops. A really nice IPA.
downender (2535), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Mar 9, 2009 Updated: Jul 11, 2009Bottle. Amber with a slight white head. Massive, slightly overpowering grapefruit hop aroma with a trace of sweet malt. Flavour was also dominated by citrus hops, with some biscuit malts in the background and a very long dry finish. Drinkable, but one dimensional. larryLSB (139), La Selva Beach, California, USA Mar 8, 2009 Poured from 22 oz. Beautiful golden color with small off white head that dissipated quickly. Not a real strong aroma, but hints of flowers and fruits. Excellent taste, not to bitter, with a bit of an oily finish. One of my favorite IPA’s and the bottle is almost as good as at the brewery. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Mar 6, 2009 Nice IPA, strong hops, more along the lines of piney-resinous. Seems like more bittering hops than aroma hops. Has that kind of dry hopped body to it, seems like a lot of west cops IPAs have it. Overall, nice and drinkable, a good IPA. OSLO (825), Perth, Australia Mar 6, 2009 [Bottle] Pours hazy dark orange with a small off-white head. Aroma has floral sweetness with an unusual melon aroma mixed in and also some strawberry jam--reminds me of aromas that I encounter more often in young barley wines than in IPAs. A little lemon zest showed up in there as well after a bit. Taste is decent, but a little strange. Not overly bitter, but there is a fair amount of grapefruit rind on the swallow. Other than that, there is a hefty maltiness and some other citrus. Good mouthfeel with a long finish. Quite smooth and very drinkable. A decent IPA, but didn’t overly impress. Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Mar 4, 2009 Not a bad IPA but quite hoppy. Has definite strength to it, more so than several other beers of it’s kind.
