Commercial Description:
This is a hoppy IPA. Did I say hops? Your brewer is a hop head! This is a full bodied beer using American grains. The goal was to create a base for showing off the unique floral qualities of two Pacific Northwest hops, Columbus and Cascade. Columbus is a new hybrid High Alpha Acid hop used mostly for bittering, but used heavily as an aromatic in this strong brew. Cascade is the balance that ties the malt and bittering hops together. It is a true specialty ale and is our brewer’s statement on this style. 2004 L.A. Commercial Brewing Competition, Silver Medal Winner; 2004 World Beer Cup, Silver Medal Winner; 2001 Real Ale Festival, San Diego, Gold Medal Winner; 2001 Real Ale Festival, Chicago, Gold Medal Winner; 1999 Great Amercian Beer Festival, Gold Medal Winner - og 1.070, ABV 7.0%, IBU 69. California State Fair Bronze Medal, 1997 Beerfest Invitational. - og 1.070, ABV 7.0%, IBU 69.

bomber into shaker. Really cloudy copper orange (the cloudiness is probably my fault since I carried it home in a backpack and opened it right away). Nice white head, creamy and lacy. Aroma has some great juicy hop character but also a bizarre malt/yeast character (again this might be my fault for agitating it before pouring). Good hop flavor - mostly piney and some citrus. Dry hop resin finish. Medium body with perfect amunt of carbonation. Good mouthfeel. Overall good but I should try a fresh bottle again and be patient enough to let it settle.

On Tap at the Gingerman, New York 20-11-08. Loz had, had this beer at Monks Café, Philadelphia on her Birthday 14-11-08 and had raved about it. Loz was right this was really tasty, would be happy to session on this stuff but strength might clobber me a little. Poured warm gold in colour, plenty of piney hops in here. My notes are very sketchy as this place was absolutely heaving and was being elbowed left right and centre. A7 A4 F7 P4 OV14 3.6

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange color. Smells of fruity hops and pine. Very sweet smell. Well balanced IPA. Not the typical hoppy IPA. Very drinkable. Great beer

Plain yellow color with some bubbles. Sweet grapefruit smell. Tastes like straight up hops. What make this beer exceptional is even though it has way too many hops it is not over the top. It is just a great example of a floral and bitter hoppy bear nothing more nothing less. What keeps it normal and drinkable?

There is something about Cascade and Columbus that smells terrific. Reminds me a bit of Pliny the Elder. One of my new favorite beers.

Botella. Deep golden orange colour. Nice hoppy piney and fruity aroma. Good filling mouthfeel. The flavour has a good fruitiness with good bitter hops, pine and a good pleasant mild sweetness. Dry long lasting hoppy fruity finish.

Pours a dark hazy gold with a thick rocky head. Big citrus pine and grassy aroma. Nice malty body balancing it all out, very nice chewy taste. Bitter citrus grassy pine flavor. Really big flavorful IPA with nice chewy Cascade and Simcoe style hops. Very good.

On tap. Orange color with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor was dominated by hops from start to finish. Wonderful citrus and floral hops. Barley any malt came through; thus unbalanced.
