Wulfstan (509), California, USA Oct 2, 2009 This IPA is very flavourful and hoppy, yet has enough maltiness to balance the bitterness and carry the hops.
Faintly murky light orange, it has a meduim off-white head thinning slowly to a thin wispy top and some decent lace.
The aroma is citrusy hops, leaning to grapefruit, with raisin, syrupy grape and hints of toasted bread.
The taste is citrusy mostly, but not as grapfetruity, strong up front before mellowing with syuurpy raisin, malty caramelly sweteness, and ylight yeastydough. The feel is lightly oily. TheGB (40), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Oct 1, 2009 On tap at Beerrun in Charlottesville. Aroma is of citrus and fresh hops. Taste is dominated by grapefruit and grass with some tangerine. Hops definitely have a floral/citrus character to them, and not overly bitter. gsteph (263), knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 1, 2009 Pours a hazy, orangish, copper. Head is a frothy off-white with some staying power. Nose is mostly caramel malt but has some butteriness to it with a clean, aromatic floral shot muddled with lemon and pine. Flavor is brown sugar, citrus pith and pine. There is even some notes of butterscotch and peach. Finishes a tad bitter with echoing notes of cane sugar. Nice medium density body with good tooth coating characteristics. Nicely balanced....very slick and smooth with a touch of oiliness. rustychiles (1007), Mesa, Arizona, USA Oct 1, 2009 Bomber from Quick Trip, and it’s actually kind of fresh. We need more craft beer at gas station chains! Pours a hazy golden orange with a large creamy white head. Aroma is citrus, hops, pine and lots of malt. Flavor is citrusy hops, pine, hops, fruits, nice bitter finish and well balanced. A really nice IPA for what it is. garthicus (1216), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 29, 2009 On tap at Coles. Appearance: golden orange with a small white head. Aroma: huge peppery hops with pineapple, mango, earth, raspberry & lemon. Flavour: woah! Huge hoppy alcohol hit, under ripe pineapple, lemons, mango, pepper. Super bitter finish. Delicious. pete4999 (121), Buffalo, New York, USA Sep 28, 2009 Bottle, pours an amber/brown. Citrusy and hoppy scent. Grapefruit, apricot, etc. Very hoppy nose, and there’s hops throughout the whole taste without being overwhelming. Bitter, but not too bitter. Very good beer. evergreen0199 (259), London, Greater London, England Sep 28, 2009 Bottle. Golden pour with medium white head. Tastes hoppy, citrus fruit, malty, bitter. A quality well balanced complex IPA. trevor211 (500), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 25, 2009 Pours a medium orange with a creamy, beige head. Big hops on the nose - citrus and floral hops, with enough caramel malts to counter, but not enough to overpower. Nice, full mouthfeel... the malts come through in the flavor a bit more, but it has a nice, bitter, dry finish. This one’s really good.
