kseecs16 (865), Naperville, Illinois, USA Jun 24, 2008 Pale golden thick foamy off white head. Nice floral a bit sweet with a biting spicy bitterness. A really good strong but quite drinkable IPA. Hints of citrus.
MaltOMeal (642), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Jun 21, 2008 bomber. Pours a clear, golden amber with a thin white head. Nose is sweet with citrus and pine hops. Taste is of citrus, orange rind to be exact, with caramel malt to balance. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with a good bitter aftertaste. Very nice for a hop head like me. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 19, 2008 Poured a slightly hazy medium copper pour that formed a nice creamy head that stuck for a while. Lots of grapefruit hoppiness in the aroma and flavor. A bit of caramel malt balances things nicely. Above average carbonation feels good on the palate. good bitter finish. For the price, a really good IPA. Mrthirstyneck (341), Minnesota, USA Jun 16, 2008 Drank this a while back. Recall it being a very good ipa. Strong bitter grapefruit thats a huge plus for me. tons of hops hops hops. Balanced enough to drink very smooth though. GREAT BEER! Heathen (723), Riverside, New Jersey, USA Jun 13, 2008 THOUGHTS: A little one-sided for me. I like a little malt with my hops. This was well-made and tastes good, but it just leaned a little too much to the hops side.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a cloudy, light to medium orange with and average-sized, slightly off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was light caramel malt, heavy orange and grapefruit citrus hops & some resin too. The initial flavor was lightly sweet, moderately acidic and moderately bitter; while the finish was moderately acidic and heavily to almost harshly bitter with a long duration. There was a little caramel malt and tons of citrus hops. A little tea flavor came in later. It became a little more tolerable as it warmed, but it remained rather harsh. oteyj (716), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA Jun 12, 2008 Pours slightly hazy amber with off white one finger head. Nose of citrus and piney hops with a hint of malt. Flavor is actually pretty incredible- hits harsh and bitter but subsides into an incredibly smooth aftertaste. Nice citrus (grapefruit) and pine elements. Palate is great- despite its ’pale ale’ status its actually quite rich and by no means watery or thin. Lots of alpha acids and great palate make this a definite winner. GMCC2181 (848), Bear, Delaware, USA Jun 8, 2008 Updated: Jun 10, 2008Bottle. Hazy orange in color. Not much head. Smell of Hops! Taste is a nice bitterness backed by a stong maltyness. Smooth and easy to drink. The hops are sweet and fruity. Good texture. Overall one of the better IPA’s out there. I would definitely pick this up again!****UPDATE****Recently had it on tap at Stateline, even better! Nik925 (300), California, USA Jun 8, 2008 Awesome hoppyness, great grapefruit flavor coming through, restrained bitterness especially for the hop level. One of the best IPAs out there.
