Commercial Description:
This is a hoppy IPA. Did I say hops? Your brewer is a hop head! This is a full bodied beer using American grains. The goal was to create a base for showing off the unique floral qualities of two Pacific Northwest hops, Columbus and Cascade. Columbus is a new hybrid High Alpha Acid hop used mostly for bittering, but used heavily as an aromatic in this strong brew. Cascade is the balance that ties the malt and bittering hops together. It is a true specialty ale and is our brewer’s statement on this style. 2004 L.A. Overall very nicely balanced with some solid very flavorful hops. Pine, citrus and caramel malts with a nice body to back the hops juice. A lingering citrus grapefruit hop bitterness. Nice.

Bottle at SBWF. A very nice IPA, a lot of tropical fruit and citrus. Compared with Hopsickle this was more balanced, thanks to the malt. Clearly a nice IPA that was easy to drink. I especially liked the dry and pleasant bitter end.

Pours a nice looking crystal copper color. No head at all. Aroma is unusually sweet with a hint of grain. Taste is very nice and balanced. Wait around and the bitterness appears. This is a real easy drinking IPA.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a hazy softly carbonated light orange brown colored body. The mild aroma was cascade hoppy and floral. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt and strong hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

From a 22oz bottle poured into a shaker at 48°. Color is a pale gold with a slight haze. Carbonation is good with a nice tight white head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity with a sweet citrus coming out. Taste is smooth and citric. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a creamy feel. Finish comes out sweet with a mild malt feel then the citrus rolls in with orange and lemon rind, then a bold bitterness. After taste is dry with an almost sticky bitterness lingering on leaving a pine like taste. This is a very good IPA, it has a nice citrus flavors that don’t just overpower you with grapefruit the way far too many out there do.
