partyninja (17), Portland, Oregon, USA Apr 27, 2008 Yes! This as a very powerful beer with a head-kicking flavor. The hops are overwhelming but remain delicious. Superior beverage. Lothore (276), California, USA Apr 27, 2008 Pours a golden red hue with a huge head that seems like it would stay forever. The smell is sweet, hoppy, notes of pine and berries. The taste is very full, bitter bready, pine. Mouthfeel is very thick with quite a bit of carbonation. This beer seems drinkable enough for an IPA. The bitterness makes me just want to sip on it but all in all a good brew.
Aquilo (249), California, USA Apr 23, 2008 I love the smell. Oranges and apricots. It also has a nice orange color, with a thin white head. Taste is hoppy and citrusy, as an IPA should be. Very nice indeed. GJF (480), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Apr 22, 2008 Wonderful IPA. Plenty of pine and citrus hops with a great malty backbone. No need to say more, just drink it. maybrick350 (4), West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA does not count Apr 22, 2008 I was somewhat disappointed. I had this on here at home on my BeverageAir system. I purchased it as a sixtel. The taste was okay, but not well balanced as I prefer IPA to be. The hop finish was too sharp against the malt front end. Color and nose were nice. Carbonantion and head retention fine. I do love big IPA and double IPA. Will definitely give it another chance. It was a long way for this sixtel to travel here to Pennsylvania. GG (1613), NorCal, California, USA Apr 21, 2008 Not sure why I haven’t rated this beer. It’s in every BevMo I ever go into and it’s soo easy to drink. I usually wind up getting a 6’er of this every couple of months during the warmer weather.
The beer pours out a medium orange/gold color with a nice two-finger thick head with some nice retention. The aroma has qualities for every hop lover...citrus, floral, piney, earthy...a really fresh hop aroma. Sweet bready malts float around too. Flavors are just sooo easy to enjoy. The fresh hop aroma is embarssingly good. My mouth just waters at the mere thought of drinking this stuff. It may lack a bit in the balance department, leaning to be a more hop forward beer but that’s perfectly fine for my tastes. Excellent beer." gunhaver (1024), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 20, 2008 Updated: Jun 5, 2008Bottle, courtesy Tony at Oldsmar Tap House. Pours a hazy reddish mango color, with a watery white head. Nice sheets of lacing on the glass. Big piney aroma, with grapefruit. Yup, lots of hops. Chalky malts present, too. Sweet hops delight the tongue, and yet the malts come through well. Balanced and exceptionally well-made. Sticky mouthfeel, easy drinking. The balance creates a nice alternative to the crazy CA hophead beers. TeamTrappist (367), jericho, New York, USA Apr 19, 2008 Draft. Poured orange brown, with a thin white head, appeared almost unfiltered. A hoppy nose with a slightly creamy somewhat sweet mouthful. Nice bitter finish.
