Naka (524), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 21, 2008 A clear orange peach color with a very tiny fizzy white head that only lasts for a few seconds. Aroma is a heavy floral hop with some characteristics of tea. A very pure hop flavor that isn’t muddled with a lot of other influences. It is a bright floral and grassy flavor that shines alone above the sweetness, yet remains balanced. Not a whole lot of body, but that keeps it pretty refreshing. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 20, 2008 22 oz. bomber courtesy/shared with Naka. Pours orange with rimming white head, thin and foamy. Nose is all hops, citrus and pine with some caramel undertones. Taste is very citrus/grapefruit with some piney undertones. Slight notes of caramel underneath, but this one’s about the hops. And I"m glad that it is. Moderate hop bitterness with good hop flavor and aroma. Good balance, even though it leans towards hoppy. Good beer. MagooinPA (99), Warminster, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 17, 2008 22oz pour to nice, white rocky head and orangey/light copper color. Nice nose but not the hop bomb I expected. It was a perfect balance of hops and malt backbone. Hops is there throughout but the slight nuttiness to the malt gives this beer some great character. This was really good and not as hoppy as advertised. No hint it is 7% and this is a great year-round beer. Would love to try this on draft. imadeadguy (378), back in NJ!, New Jersey, USA Mar 15, 2008 22oz. light copper pour with white head. Light aromas of citrus and pine. Flavors of lime, sweet malt, and resin. Lighter IPA imo, but still very good. This would be an awesome summer beer. epf33 (222), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Mar 15, 2008 hoppy, full body, floral aroma, no wonder it’s won so many awards, it’s freakin good! Brewsmith (136), Torrance, California, USA Mar 14, 2008 Poured from a 22oz. bomber purchased locally. Orange-gold color. Clear. Small off white head. Big orange citrus hop aroma. Not subtle. Big hop bitterness and flavor. Lots of pine and citrus hop flavors. Some malt present. Not too sweet. Mouthfeel drys with a lingering bitterness. Overall, assertively hoppy, yet very drinkable. A great example of a west coast IPA. hoplover406 (204), Crofton, Maryland, USA Mar 13, 2008 Draft @ Frisco’s. An outstanding IPA from a solid brewery. Looks golden honey with a big hoppy head that fades and leaves sticky lacing. Smells of unadulterated hops. nice malty middle with a killer finish. Great beer! hombrepalo (745), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 13, 2008 Tap @ Maproom, pours clear golden/orange with a nice white lasting head. Wonderful aromas of citrus, pine and grapefruit from the hops with a touch of carmel malt. Big bitterness that mellows nicely with the malts and finishes with more hops and a hint of alcohol. Overall a beautiful IPA that has it all from the aroma to the flavor.
