Hank1980 (734), Athens, Georgia, USA Mar 7, 2008 Nice hoppy IPA. Pours orange with a creamy head. Aroma is of citrus hops and a little funky. Taste is equally hoppy with a firm malt backing. Mouth is medium bodied. Finish is nicely bitter. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Mar 6, 2008 Thanks lb4lb. Pours a hazy golden orange with a three finger creamy orange head. The nose is very hoppy, citrusy, sweet hops, wonderfully pungent. Spicy hop flavor, citrusy, hoppy, waxy, alcohol doesn’t really show. Nice smooth palate, very full. Fantastic IPA. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Mar 6, 2008 The color was slightly hazy and a crisp golden/orange. The head was creamy, thick, foamy, and white. The aroma was very citrisy, hops, alcohol, and fruity. The flavor was very hoppy, slightly waxy/bitter, citrisy, and cprisp. The palate was medium-bodied. The finish was hoppy. This ipa was on par with a double. Bhops (329), Dallas, Texas, USA Mar 6, 2008 Talk about head, geezum. Thick and creamy... Hoppy with nice malty finish. Thoroughly enjoyable IPA. Changus (13), Portland, Oregon, USA Mar 4, 2008 What a great beer. You could easily pick out the flavors. citrus, grapefruit hop with that smooth body of caramel that thickens and gives that heavy feeling on your tongue. One of the better IPA’s. Hinez57 (129), Clinton, Mississippi, USA Mar 3, 2008 I admit it... I’m a malt head! But when a beer is done right it doesn’t matter what your leanings are, a fine beer is a fine beer... and this is a fine beer. An aroma you could recognize blindfolded with your nose taped shut, C-hops, and lots of it, VERY fresh. I’m not sure I’ve seen a nicer longer lasting head than this one, amazing head and beautiful to gaze upon. While I can’t detect the subtle notes that must be present in the malts, they must be there because for all it’s hop essence this beer drinks quite easy. Not too bitter. The hops shine in the flavor just as much as in the nose. Very nice mouth feel, silky with the hop oils real evident. Wow I was blown away. This is by no means my favorite style, but this is an awesome C-hop delivery machine. A great American IPA. Schlante!
(drinking a SNPA will never be the same again) Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 3, 2008 This golden brown pour looks almost orange. Hops and caramel malt in the nose. It is a very balanced beer. Hops, bitterness, but still sweet in flavor. I prefer their Hop Rod Rye but not bad. gsmitty80 (630), Washington DC, USA Mar 3, 2008 Updated: Mar 14, 2008This was a phenominal IPA. Very bold hop flavors are mixed masterfully but distinctive enough to pull out on each taste. Aroma is floral and hoppy with tidings of the good nectar to come. Can’t wait to get my next 22!
