BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Mar 2, 2008 Pours goldy and hazy with a normal sized head. Nose is completely grapefruit hops wih a touch of caramel malts. Loads of hops and not a whole lot of malting and maybe just a thought of sweetness included. Bitterness persists but the blend of hops made this pretty good. ketchepillar (475), Viña del Mar, Chile Mar 2, 2008 Everything about this is quite good, except for the metallic character. It’s the first thing that hits you in the nose, but if you dig deeper, there is a lovely hop bouquet of sweet grapefruit and pine. Very floral. Palate is also lacking (too thin and the carbonation is stinging and prickly). This beer finishes quite dry. Again, the floral hop character in this is really nice. Kind of reminds me of Celebration. The malt sweetness in this beer is not all that appeasing; it’s not dirty or dusty, but something about the caramel doesn’t meld well. gunsho (134), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Mar 2, 2008 i dont really understand the 98 percentile. this beer is good and well-balanced but not really complex or interesting. i like the floral and citrusy nose but the beer is a murky amber color. the head is white and lacy. the mouthfele is chalky and chewy. definitely a good ipa to give to a novice as an introduction but lacking those special, unique qualities
on tap @ the map room ksurkin (355), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Feb 28, 2008 bomber. pours a cloudy amber with a 1/2 inch head and great lacing. aroma sweet...think roses, grapefruit, and dried apricot. mouthfeel is very solid, but not too thick and goes down very smooth. this beer wins with flavor. hops are dominant with a roasted malt flavor on the back end. perfectly bitter at 69IBUs and lasts nicely on the toungue. overall, one of the most quality IPA’s around. theshocker (329), Marietta, Georgia, USA Feb 27, 2008 Orange, clear, small head. Nice citrusy aroma and flavor. Very bitter, sticks with you. Borders on too much, at least if its your first beer of the night. Very good though. johndavidj99 (123), Township, Maine, USA Feb 25, 2008 Updated: Mar 1, 2008Draught at the Flying Saucer. Hazy light orange with thin head. I don’t know if was the "racing" theme or what but the aroma was of a clutch. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the aroma! Very great grapefruit y hoppy smell and taste. I enjoyed it very much. I noticed it was quite smooth and very easy to drink. The lacing was great as well. craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Feb 22, 2008 bomber. Outstanding IPA that is full of hops... huge fluffy white head... deep golden color with some sediment floating throughout. Deep, strong hop aroma... thick full body, strong tacky and chewy finish. A touch of fruit as well... maybe apricot. Huge hops, huge head, huge IPA! Highly recommended. johnadam2002 (529), Hainesport, New Jersey, USA Feb 18, 2008 Very good IPA. Solid hop character from start to finish. Orange, grapefruit, and pine flavors. Finished rather sweet.
