Commercial Description:
This is a hoppy IPA. Did I say hops? Your brewer is a hop head! This is a full bodied beer using American grains. The goal was to create a base for showing off the unique floral qualities of two Pacific Northwest hops, Columbus and Cascade. Columbus is a new hybrid High Alpha Acid hop used mostly for bittering, but used heavily as an aromatic in this strong brew. Cascade is the balance that ties the malt and bittering hops together. It is a true specialty ale and is our brewer’s statement on this style. 2004 L.A. Commercial Brewing Competition, Silver Medal Winner; 2004 World Beer Cup, Silver Medal Winner; 2001 Real Ale Festival, San Diego, Gold Medal Winner; 2001 Real Ale Festival, Chicago, Gold Medal Winner; 1999 Great Amercian Beer Festival, Gold Medal Winner - og 1.070, ABV 7.0%, IBU 69. A great IPA, reviewed from notes, original had 1/16 at the Headkeeper in Greensburg. Pour is a weak point, a rather plain red with small head and little lacing. Improved slightly on second go to finish out the bomber. Smells not your usual overpowering hop scent with an IPA, very nice. Tastes..smooth is the first word that comes to mind. This is definitely closer to two hearted than a beat you over the head with hops brew. Mouth is med bodied and low/med carbonation. Very good as it helps the overwhelming smoothness. This is great stuff and one of my favorite "regular" IPAs.

Draft. Pours amber with a little haze and a big off-white head. Aroma of mostly hops and some citrus and floral notes. Hops also dominate the flavor with some citrus and caramel. Great hoppy flavor. Medium body, dry and bitter finish with a bitter aftertaste.

this one was warm and i tried to make it cold as fast as possible to drink this and i dont think it worked very well. it was half warm when i drank this and i feel like that almost killed it. very bubbly with a thick head and super duper hoppy, smell like a giant plate of hops and tastes like that too. good stuff... just dont drink when its warm.

Mmmmm..... hops..... Pours nice copper colour then the citrus, tropical fruits and slightly grassy hop aroma hits you. Well balanced between the malt and the hops, finishes slightly bitter but not too much. A lovely beer, very typical of the real American ale style making full use of the Cascade and Chinook hops. Lovely!

Pours a hazy orange brown color with nice frothy offwhite head. Aroma is nice and citrusy. Flavor is very balanced. Starts with nice medium sweet caramel malt base then big, but not abrassive, citric and resiny hop presence. Overall, definitely a winner.
