Commercial Description:
This is a hoppy IPA. Did I say hops? Your brewer is a hop head! This is a full bodied beer using American grains. The goal was to create a base for showing off the unique floral qualities of two Pacific Northwest hops, Columbus and Cascade. Columbus is a new hybrid High Alpha Acid hop used mostly for bittering, but used heavily as an aromatic in this strong brew. Cascade is the balance that ties the malt and bittering hops together. It is a true specialty ale and is our brewer’s statement on this style. 2004 L.A. Commercial Brewing Competition, Silver Medal Winner; 2004 World Beer Cup, Silver Medal Winner; 2001 Real Ale Festival, San Diego, Gold Medal Winner; 2001 Real Ale Festival, Chicago, Gold Medal Winner; 1999 Great Amercian Beer Festival, Gold Medal Winner - og 1.070, ABV 7.0%, IBU 69. Wonderfully citric aroma of orange and grapefruit promises much and the sweet malt base supports the hefty dose of bitter hops which predominate the dry bitter finish. Very, very, very, refreshing.

12 Oz Bottle. Magnificent and forward juicy hop aroma. Vine candy and orange juice. Dappling of citric cherry acid and the finest the windward side has to offer for hop heaven. Suave, cool and collected. Pours a peachy tinted gold, with a silky, slide of white. For the flavor, hops tend more sap-like with spicy fragrant evergreen oils, citrus pith, and tannic plains grasses. Settled and yet revealing. Soft. Palate is evaporatively dry and clean. Leaves a sweet kiss of boreal dew on the tongue. Back end and smack are a little silent for me, but it’s got good hop utilization and expression. Thanks Tom!

Pours a golden light copper .... respectable head for an IPA ... Apple, flowers and new pine smell .... very tasty, quite mild and happily balanced ... wonderfully drinkable .... good for what it is -- Recommended for English IPA fans..

22oz bottle. Golden body with an off-white head. Very nice floral, citrus hoppy aroma. Flavor is hoppy, grapefruit, sweet malty and very harmonic. Refreshing and tasteful, summer in a bottle.

A delicious IPA. Too bad this didn’t have more carbonation. Aroma was great. Strong grassy hops and nothing else. Pour was a nice medium gold (lighter than most IPAs) with no head. Taste was all grassy hops with a soapy element. This has the same bitter hop taste as Hop Wallop. Not much malt in there but almost all bitter hops. Nicely done, just needs more carbonation.

Pours a fairly yeasty light orange with a very thin qhite head. Smells of big, floral hops, with a touch of light citrus. Taste is mostly grapefruit, hops, a little spice, touch of cinnamon or brown sugar. Seems to be very well balanced, and quite an easy drinking IPA. Very floral and subtle in its characters, which was a nice transition to the smooth finish. Very nice IPA.

Reddish-Peach. Lovely color. The head is creamy and dense and stays aloft for a long while. Fresh, crisp, juicy and clean aroma. Lots of butterscotch in the nose with lemon, other citrus notes and pine. Rich and floral throughout. Heavily bitter. Orange, lemon and other citrus notes combined with a whole lot of floral and pine qualities all demolishing the caramel from the malt. The caramel that is their is lovely. This is a highly hopped IPA. Not excessive and very drinkable. I definately am getting my alpha acid fix here as well.

Pour is a orange with a nice big white head. Aroma is deffinatly hops. Flavor is subdued hops followed up with a nice offering of malts. It is a bit sweeter than most IPA’s like it says on the bottle. Decent attempt and the price is right, only $3 a bomber.
