Bottle. Pours a nice orange/copper color with barely any head. Aroma is a burst of hops followed by nice floral notes. Flavor is a smooth, well-balanced IPA. Nice hops; floral and fruity. Solid overall beer.

Wow!! Success can be a great thing or it goes straight to the brewers head and he goes madman. Much like Stone on the heavy Pine and extra hops however extreme citrus. Taste, mouthful and palate just way to overkill on grapefruit. Half way into a second 12 once bottle considering tums to buffer the acidity however trying to give this every chance. For the price a complete rip off. My Santa Cruz CA LQ store showed me the numbers and there making less than $2.00 profit on the six pack indicating Bear Republic or the distributors have an agenda letting some success go to their heads. 2009 Strong pale Ale Gold is 5 years down the road and being brewed from a new location consistency may be the problem here. To much demand to fast has killed more than one great small brewery and I’m afraid this may be the case with Racer 5 IPA. Oddly the brewery even suggests aged Cheddar and Spicy foods as food pairings? An aged Wisconsin sharp cheddar then Asian flair with the heavy pine and grapefruit notes? Completely confused, Wish I could get a refund

Sweet beer with great fresh citrus aroma and nice mouth about it... Drinking after a morning of wine tasting and the beer still holds up Nice.

This west coast IPA has a bit of a softer side. Piney, light citrus hops, light amber body with soft head, some lacing. Taste is more citrus than pine, easy on the palate, smooth, sweet and delicious. Not as "in your face" as so mmany other left coast IPAs.

pours with a generous thick foam cap that is dense and lingers through session. A nice golden orange color that is clear. Citrus and pine resin can be scented in this hoppy brew. Hoppy, yes, with citrus and pine coming through with some malt character for balance. This is a full body beer with a slightly dry or bitter ending.

One of the better west coast IPA in my opinion. Has something not quite seen in west coast and that is balance. Hops are strong but well balanced malt backbone keeps it from being one sided. Got this one fresh as was less than 10 days old on bottle stamp. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Licht troebel, licht amberkleurig. Niet al te veel aroma, wat mango en lychee. Meer smaak, fruitige hop, maar dat sneeuwt een beetje onder door iets van peper en paprika. Lekker, maar het er net iets meer van verwacht, ook gezien de 7,5% alcohol.

Bela cerveja, com forte toque cítrico e amargor marcante. Coloração dourada e de aparência ligeiramente turva.

12 ounce bottle pours a cloudy yellow golden color with creamy off-white head. And lots of hot particles. Nice citrus hop aromas. Nice lasing on the glass. Very smooth tasting with a nice creamy mouth feel. Very solid IPA
