Commercial Description:
This is a hoppy IPA. Did I say hops? Your brewer is a hop head! This is a full bodied beer using American grains. The goal was to create a base for showing off the unique floral qualities of two Pacific Northwest hops, Columbus and Cascade. Columbus is a new hybrid High Alpha Acid hop used mostly for bittering, but used heavily as an aromatic in this strong brew. Cascade is the balance that ties the malt and bittering hops together. It is a true specialty ale and is our brewer’s statement on this style. 2004 L.A. Amber pour, nice lacing. Aroma is very complex, lots of citrus and pine hops, plus nice caramel background. Flavor is very similar, complex, hoppy, yet balanced. They sure know how to brew IPAs in California.

My favorite standard IPA. If you can find it on tap, get it. Wonderful US hop aroma and flavor with enough bitterness to be assertive.

22oz bottle pours clear golden/orange with a nice white lasting head. Wonderful aromas of citrus, pine and grapefruit from the hops with a touch of carmel malt. Big bitterness that mellows nicely with the malts and finishes with more hops and a hint of alcohol. Overall a beautiful IPA that has it all from the aroma to the flavor. Can’t wait to rate it on draft.

Aroma clean lemony flowers, great body for s great IPA, medium head, pine throaty after taste... Great beer, refreshing given the amount of volume and weight on the middle tongue.

A: Poured with a nice, large, frothy white head that hung around for a while before dissipating to 1/2-finger or so. Nice lacing on the glass. Body is mostly clear with a little haze and some particles floating around, and a orange color. S: Pleasant aroma of heavy hops, some pine, and a lot of orange citrus. T: Awesome flavor here. The citrus (orange) bursts through at the beginning, with some pine in there as well, and a very hoppy, bitter finish. Still manages to be smooth, however. M: Medium-bodied and creamy, with average carbonation. D: This is an excellent IPA... very flavorful and hoppy, but still quite easy to drink.

This is a great IPA, very well balanced with lots of citrus hops and a crisp dry finish. Pours orange/amber with a tall off-white head. Citrus apricot aroma. Very clean and refreshing with a great citrus fruity hop finish. Boojah!

Bottle. Pours a medium to pale amber, with a thick, frothy, marshmallowy white head, suggestions of green, phenomenal lacing, perhaps one of the most gorgeous beers I’ve sen so far. Nose is pine and citrus, grapefruit and orange rind, pretty, mildly floral, lovely. Palate is more of the same, al of the pine/spruce shades, as well as every description of citrus, and the flowers translate over as well. Could be ever so slightly maltier, but his is really my only complaint. Gorgeous, wondrous nectar.

From Firefly. Rich and hazy copper body under a smallish yet enduring creamy ivory head. Good, snappy hop aroma and likewise was the flavour and mouth. Bitter finish, solid mouth, A quality beer.
