Commercial Description:
This is a hoppy IPA. Did I say hops? Your brewer is a hop head! This is a full bodied beer using American grains. The goal was to create a base for showing off the unique floral qualities of two Pacific Northwest hops, Columbus and Cascade. Columbus is a new hybrid High Alpha Acid hop used mostly for bittering, but used heavily as an aromatic in this strong brew. Cascade is the balance that ties the malt and bittering hops together. It is a true specialty ale and is our brewer’s statement on this style. 2004 L.A. 22 oz. Bottle. While I didn't have any weird chunks floating in my beer like the previous rater, I did have a ton of hops in my beer and I enjoyed every one of them. There was a grapefruit nose and taste that lingered through to the aftertaste. This was a very enjoyable beer!

Copper with a pillowy white head. Big floral nose, hoppy, citric, and some sweet light malt notes. Nice sweet flavor--honey, caramel, touch of diacetyl, topped with a bitter, grassy, floral hop flavor. A study in hops, with the strong malt body thrown down to give the lupulins a floor to dance upon.

Nose of pine, flowers, perfume, and dried fruit. Pours a sparkling golden with yeastmen floating about. The nice cascade resolves into a tight sticky off white head that is fully lasting and leaves fair lace. The brew is primarily bitter, but maintains a good balance. Moderately acidic with decent complexity and a rockin’ finish. The perfect body is medium, dry, and lively. The finish feels astringent. Very well done.

From a bottle poured a creamy and coating thin off white head atop a tawny-copper body. Bright and comforting fruity hopped nose that lead perfectly into the first taste and maintained as the beer warmed. Full-bodied creamy balance. One of the most inspiring west coast IPAs in a while! Great finish with hints of caramel, citrus and pure joy. very very enjoyable beer!

When I fired up this page to write this review, I actually began to salivate. This stuff is delicious. This has all the right elements for a sturdy IPA: strong hop nose, balanced malt/hop and it looks almost like apple cider in the glass. Fresh, delicious beer! I can drink a lot of this before someone wishes to beat me up. And, at 7%, I say "Bring it on!"

(01.27.06) One pint, 6 fl oz brown bottle purchased from DiCarlo’s, Mundelein, IL. Clear red amber hued ale having a small white head with spare lace. notable white particulates. Soft carbonation. Hoppy sweet malt aroma. Medium bodied that starts with light sweet malt and pronounced hop flavors. Finishes with light hop bitterness. Yum. .. Well balanced with pronounced hop profile. A luscious giant hoppy beer.

22oz bottle One of the best heads on an IPA I have seen. Well carbonated and beautiful lacing. Nice hoppy aroma piney, citrus and a faint smell of coffee in the aroma’s. Robust hop flavor ful of citrus nicely done. Not what I had expected

22 oz. bomber. Pours an ever so faintly hazy gold with a big creamy durable head and excellent lace. Spciey and piney hop aroma with a little undercurrent of apricot and honey. Mediuym body complemented by light carbonation and a pleasing resinous mouthfeel. Hop domianted bitter flavor profile, although nice balance is provided by some light toffee sweetness. Refreshingly bitter finish. This is one of the better IPA’s out there, and one of the best I’ve had in a while.
