afireinside96 (498), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 12, 2008 Had this back to back with their Hp Rod Rye and was disappointed with this one after having the former. Not much hop character in the nose and though it has a good deal of bitterness there is no hop flavor. It smells and tastes of biscuit and caramel. Smooth and drinkable but not an IPA that I will look for again.
kennydiaz (73), staten island, New York, USA Oct 11, 2008 POURS NICE AND SMOOTH WITH A GOLDEN COLOR. YOU CAN SMELL AND TASTE THIS HOPPY BEER. ONE OF THE BETTER IPA’S. amish_caravan (212), Winona, Minnesota, USA Oct 11, 2008 strong scent of floral hops. nice color. translucent amber with little head. taste is of strong hops and some citrus. bitter hops finish with tones of grapefruit as well. excellent beer. I will purchase again. mgermani (621), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Oct 10, 2008 Pours a clear orange with a thin head with great retention and LOTS of lace. Sweet & hoppy, slightly medicinal nose. Taste... oh boy. This one’s a treat. Loads of malt and a recessed bitterness set the stage perfectly for a beautiful fresh and earthy hop finish. Oily mouthfeel, great carbonation, dangerously quaffable. Packs a nearly Imperial punch in terms of taste, and only clocks in at 7% ABV. Very nice! pantanap (793), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 9, 2008 draft at maproom.... semi-transparent orange amber brown pour with a thin but lasting frothy white head.... aroma lended itself to bitter citrus and pine notes ...assertive bitter pine and citris hop flavors with an apparent bitterness in the finish. quite nice and bold flavors to this ipa. beergod! (44), Houston, Texas, USA Oct 6, 2008 Wow! Great IPA! Pours a copper color with a nice head. The nose is in your face, nice citrus, floral, fresh grass. Full flavor of tangerines, grapefruit, navel orange peel with a nice dry finish. Nice carbonation. pair with a spicy dish or a mustard driven sammich!
