4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This poured a handsome orange with great clarity, golden hues and a thin loose head of big bubbles that fell quickly to a ring and film on top. It tired to lace like the champ it is but it was a little flat. It does have legs.
Nose is simply outstanding. Crisp fruit. Orange, tangerine and grapefruit. Hop floral and a bit of spice. There is a nice strong malt presence in the nose. itís a honey sweetness that is terribly inviting and the fruit has a tropical presence as well. It smells earthy. I has a little spice on the nose so itís deep. The malt offers up light sugar on the nose as it warms.
Taste is smooth and the malt presence surprises again to the delight of the palate. The fruits are sweet and authentic with their tart aspects and even a little pith. They make the mouth water and then satisfy the tongue with their light sweetness. The malt is cracker but itís strong enough to be seen and felt on the palate. The honey and the light sugar satisfy with a little bit more malt body than the average DIPA. Ití s not chewy itís firm. The alcohol warms and the resin and honey sweetness are sticky and coat the throat to leave all the bright fruit to linger with the aftertaste. Finishes dry and with some hop spice and herbal. Has a nice bitter that accents the flavors perfectly and does not run over them. Superb!
This beer had a malt presence that was equal to itís immense hop character. The fruit flavor was not outdone by the staunch malt presence and thatís what made this beer. There was something to it. It had a full mouthfeel and taste but a light smooth drink.

S: Piney, Tropical Fruits

Overall, a great blend yet not over powering DIPA, has the piney taste with a nice tropical fruit blend on the back end, solid.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Poured a deep hazy orangey color ale with a medium white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of citrus and earthy hops with some deep caramelized sweet malt backbone. Taste is also dominated by some citrus and earthy hops with a huge caramelized malt backbone with quite a bit of residual sugar. Body is quite full with good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Enjoyable but just too sweet for my taste buds.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
In short: A malty-sugary and very hoppy (flora-piney) golden ale. In-your-face IPA. Good.
How: Tap at Downtown, San Juan, PR.
The look: Clear shinning golden-orange body topped by a medium white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: The highly aromatic hoppy nose is very floral with piney undertones, this is a bouquet of flowers with some piney and perfumy notes (rose water). Taste offers a solid malt backbone, sugary crackers, mild toastiness and lots of residual sugars (crystal malts) that are quickly washed away by the massive floral-piney hopping. A commanding bitterness. I could have done without the perfume aroma/flavour, it felt a bit soapy to my palate, but overall this was still a pretty good tasty hop-fix. Maybe there is more to rating beers than I think, if you put all my ratings together, then rearrange the letters I bet you can come up with some kind of meaningful spiritual text or something, or at least a good guacamole recipe.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Blue Dog in Chalfont, PA. I've had and enjoyed Racer 5, but this completely blows it out of the water. The flavor they fit into R5's DIPA counterpart is something to be experienced. A very California style IPA, and that is a compliment in every way.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sampled in a bomber aged for a couple months. A big time adventure through hops. Really smooth but with a intense hops palate and aftertaste.
