Racer X® is an uncommon Double India Pale Ale which puts a California twist on English brewing traditions by adding an assertive hop aroma and bitterness that compliments the firm malt backbone. Like its little brother Racer 5, Racer X® is balance in a bottle.

Pours a deep burnt orange with a thin sticky white head. Aroma is a good balance of hoppy citrus, pine, tropical fruit, and malty biscuite, toffee and caramel. The flavour is also well balanced, resinous hops, grapefruit, tropic fruit, passion fruit, sweet malts mingle in, highlighting the sweet passion fruit notes which seems to be the star of the show. Super solid.

Bottle @ The Lets do a Chris O tasting. Pours amber/golden other than a really deep and long lasting pine smell nothing very one toned on the nose. Big caramel flavour, its not a bad beer just very two toned.

Bottle at Asahiya. Orange-red with lace. Big citrus and tropical fruit nose, huge juicy fruits. Quite sweet flavor, soft, oily, full bodies. A bit cloying and almost syrupy, but nice.

Tap at The Jeffrey on a surprisingly unbusy St Patricks day. Pours clear orange with nice puffy head. Nose is floral and citrus hops. Tastes of piney hops, grapefruit, oranges, honey, pretty malty, and crackers. Slight sticky palate and nice lingering finish.

On tap at some bar in Arizona - Tastes like a suped up version of Racer 5 with more alcohol.

22oz bottle pours a hazy amber color without much head. Broad hop flavors though a little alcohol harshness.
