COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Racer X® is an uncommon Double India Pale Ale which puts a California twist on English brewing traditions by adding an assertive hop aroma and bitterness that compliments the firm malt backbone. Like its little brother Racer 5, Racer X® is balance in a bottle.

Growler… October ‘09 O-Town Throwdown! This beer rocks!… Clear amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Fruity, earthy aroma – pine, resin and grapefruit. Full-bodied and ultra-creamy with tickling carbonation. The flavor is unquestionably bitter, but also offers a nice ration of caramel malt and warming alcohol. Lengthy, snappy, bitter finish. Growler of this world class beer shared by Beerlando!

On tap. Poured a deeper and cloudy amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of pine needles, citrus, and just all around nice and hoppy. Tastes of pine, citrus, with some caramel. Definitely more hoppy than malty! Very nice hop bomb.

On tap - David Copperfields NYC. This beer was almost identical for me to Arrogant Bastard. A very tart grapefruit aroma and taste, and an extremely hoppy taste. Starting to enjoy this type of beer, shame it was my last day in USA!

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2012 GABF 2012 (and later bottle re-rate). Multiple pours over Thursday and Friday. Pours a dark golden appearance with an off white head. Very dank, spicy, grapefruity aroma. Carbonated, zesty, very dank, piney flavor. Nice stuff.

Hazy amber-red colour with a thick off-white head. Aroma is herbal with a bright sweet orange/lemon esters. Very light cloviness, fruity apricot and a bit of light malty sweetness. Very bright citrus/fruity sweetness. Very soft bitterness but still showing lots of rich orangey character. Mango, pineapple and a lovely orange/papaya character. Really tasty IIPA.

Served on draft at Beer Run. Pours a clear copper color with a thin frothy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of herbal, pine, resin and citrus hops. The taste is citrus, resin, piney hops with a subtle pale maltiness. Medium bodied with a mild lingering bitterness. Solid DIPA.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2013 Green Dragon. Unfiltered glowing golden yellow color. Extremely caustic and peppery hop nose, oily and dank, but also fusel and plastic-like. Hugely thick and viscous, overdone to the point of being a bother to drink. Crusty bread and scorched orange juice along with a metallic fusel quality keep this one from being great. No doubt the bitterness is extreme and the orange and lemon citrus notes are nice enough, but the stale pine wood and fusel/plastic qualities keep me from really liking this one.

On tap at Najas, enjoyed with Kosko20. Pours with a hazy glowing orange body and a creamy white head with good retention and phenomenal lacing Aroma is floral, citrus, spicy and exotic fruit hops, hops and hops. Taste is hops with notes of mango and maybe even papaya and strawberry, balanced beautifully with a brown sugar maltiness. Long duration with lots of fruitiness provided by the hops. Creamy mouthfeel and light bubbles. Well hidden alcohol. Greatly crafted beer!
