4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy amber-red colour with a thick off-white head. Aroma is herbal with a bright sweet orange/lemon esters. Very light cloviness, fruity apricot and a bit of light malty sweetness. Very bright citrus/fruity sweetness. Very soft bitterness but still showing lots of rich orangey character. Mango, pineapple and a lovely orange/papaya character. Really tasty IIPA.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2013 Green Dragon. Unfiltered glowing golden yellow color. Extremely caustic and peppery hop nose, oily and dank, but also fusel and plastic-like. Hugely thick and viscous, overdone to the point of being a bother to drink. Crusty bread and scorched orange juice along with a metallic fusel quality keep this one from being great. No doubt the bitterness is extreme and the orange and lemon citrus notes are nice enough, but the stale pine wood and fusel/plastic qualities keep me from really liking this one.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap from Half Time: Powerful orange and grapefruit hop aroma propels its pungent perfume onto the prevalent caramel and honey sweetness...The lip-smacking, heavy body even presents some cherries and a resinous hop finale...A quintessential example of this West Coast style...

Draft. Pours hazy coppery with off-white head. Nose is piney hops, mango, tangerine. Tastes assertively hoppy with caramel malt, tangerine, and honeydew notes. Hefty, complex palate. This one is outstanding.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2011-11-19. Crisp dark amber orange body with a small beige head. 3+ Flavour is lovely, pleasant hoppy bitterness, mild citrus and resin, well balanced and flavours work very well together. 7+ Smooth medium to full bodied palate with soft carbonation. Aroma is a touch muted at first, modest resiny hops come out once you get into it. 7+ Dangerously drinkable, it is not super complex but rather lovely. I have been waiting to try this one for a while now. Draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo

On tap at Horse Brass Pub in Portland, split with Matts_Property, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of piney hops and caramel malts for balance. Flavour of caramel malts, followed by intense piney hoppiness, finishing very bitter. Rich and delicious hoppy goodness.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Najas, enjoyed with Kosko20. Pours with a hazy glowing orange body and a creamy white head with good retention and phenomenal lacing Aroma is floral, citrus, spicy and exotic fruit hops, hops and hops. Taste is hops with notes of mango and maybe even papaya and strawberry, balanced beautifully with a brown sugar maltiness. Long duration with lots of fruitiness provided by the hops. Creamy mouthfeel and light bubbles. Well hidden alcohol. Greatly crafted beer!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Jackie-Os, $5 for a tumbler. ABV listed as 8.3%. Mildly hazy amber color, nice, super-dense-looking off-white head. Nose-smell is awesomely hoppy. Lots of lace. Now, this is a unique aroma... Hops have a very tropical fruity taste, also resiny and a bit spicy. Really light, crisp carbonation, but a big body with no viscosity. Great texture. Aftertaste has a good length to it for which to appreciate the unique hop aroma. My burps taste delicious. The malt balance in this is wonderful, it makes this maybe more sweet than bitter, yet the brew refrains from being syrupy in any way. Really damn good... I’d really like to find this bottled some day, something to compete with the old standby, Stone Ruination...

From flight@Ginger Man, NYC, 18/12/11. Ugly soupy murk rimmed with white. Strawberry jam aroma with lurking grapfruit and leafiness, some Jelly Baby. Well-honeyed bitterness, apricot, grapefruit finish with a husky tail. Slight heat and alcohol bitterness. A bit medicinal. Ordinary.
