Racer X® is an uncommon Double India Pale Ale which puts a California twist on English brewing traditions by adding an assertive hop aroma and bitterness that compliments the firm malt backbone. Like its little brother Racer 5, Racer X® is balance in a bottle.

glennmastrange (2588) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAR 29, 2016
Bottle. Moderate roasted and caramel for the malt, heavy pine and orange peel for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with date, brown sugar and honey in the background. Head is average size, frothy, off-white with slippery lacing and good legs, and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky amber. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is medium to full, oily with a lively carbonation and a lightly astringent and alcoholic finish. A nice smooth DIPA with perfect balance.

Quick3Beers (781) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 2, 2016
Pours a slightly hazy copper from a bottle, white head, lots of lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, some pine. Flavor is more like lemon soap, kind of pine-sol-y. Some malt sweetness. Well-balanced, but not liking the soapiness. Good beer though.

BeerRenter76 (656) - Texas, USA - JUL 22, 2015
Pours a medium coppery amber with a one finger off-white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus and light pine hops and bready malt. Flavor follows with remarkably well integrated malt, citrus and citrus hops. Finishes with citrus rind and herbal hops. While not quite as intense hops as many Western IIPAs, the flavors are so well balanced that this is a pleasure to drink. Medium bodied with a pleasant creaminess.
