Draft at brewery, sunset orange pour, mild aroma. Leafy hop flavor, light citrus notes. Solid ipa

Tap. Big citrus with an odd characteristic that didn’t sit 100% with me - maybe the licorise characteristic from the Mt.Rainer? Very straight forward hop showcase.

On tap at Beer Republic during SF Beer Week, what a week! Pours clear deep gold with near white head and spotty lacing. The aroma delivers some floral hop notes and then running quickly into spicy hops and then more mildly malt sweetened spicy hops. The taste starts with crisp clean spicy hops and then flows into growing levels of spicy black licorice or anise notes but this anise like note never gets too forward. Another nice crisp brew on tap here and it seems a single hop with Mt. Rainer can work out nicely.

While I was complaining on the other single hop series I have had, this one was interesting. It tasted very similar to what I expect of a boring IPA. Note, it is still really well made like all BR beers, but the flavors were textbook standard IPA. Interesting. Problem being that BR makes MUCH better than boring IPAs...

Tap. Hazy dark gold with an off-white head that lasts. Very faint aroma with spices and lemon pudding. The almost absent aroma’s more surprising after it turns out to be fairly rambunctious with white pepper, licorice, lemon and grapefruit crashing through light biscuit towards a pretty bitter finish.
