4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 16, 2001
Mahogany colour, rocky head, and a rich, earthy aroma and palate showing lots of caramelly malts and foresty hops. The brewery considers this a bastardized Scottish ale, and they might not be far off - maybe a strong, robustly hopped Irish Ale is more accurate.
